[1.1.0] Leader challenges not counting

Leader challenges (e.g finishing antique age, completing legacy paths...) are not registering for me
My first games playing on antique age were working fine, got some points in, then suddenly they stopped counting. Tried disabling mods, changing game speed and nothing works.
Looked online and all I found was a "restart the game and it will update" tried this multiple times and no success either

As of Patch 1.2.1 Patch 1, this is not fixed.

Played a game as Trung Trac in the Exploration Age, trying to complete "The River of Knowledge" leader challenge.

The quest triggers when having three trade routes to other civs after researching Astronomy (prerequisite quest "Voices of the Constellations" is optional).

The objective of this quest "The River of Knowledge" is to build a university.

After building a university I don't see a notification banner that this challenge was completed. I tried the same game, repeated the saves, even started an advanced start in Exploration Age, and still this challenge rewards popup does not show.
