Hi,

I bought the Myst Trilogy pack a little while ago, but since my computer is running XP, I haven't been able to get it to work

Anyway, I'd just like to know what I am missing. Your opinions on the game, and stuff. No spoilers please!

I finished Myst, loved it. I got Riven a few years ago, but I haven't spent any amount of time on it. Looks to be even better though. Don't know a thing about Exile. Myst had some really nice puzzles to solve, and nothing is timed, so I could sit there and think about what I was doing. (or leave for a snack). A few get a little monotonous, but that seemed to be the style for games back then.

Riven obviously had better graphics and an easier interface, and Exile is probably even more, but I would at least get a good ways into Myst before starting the other two. Give you a little background, things will make more sense. Unless of course you've read the books.

I played and beat both Myst and Riven... They were both ungodly difficult to beat, but it's worth it. The worst part: getting into the Selentic Age. I'm almost tone deaf, so that part took me about an hour.

I finished both MYST and RIVEN, They are excellent games. I recently started on Exile, but haven't spent much time with it. These games come the closest to giving a person the feeling of "being there" of any games in existence. They are at times extremely frustrating. However, if and when you are able to solve the puzzles they give a person a sense of self-fullfillment that is rarely found in PC games

I agree Noldan, that part took me quite a while as well... :) I never could hold a note.

I finished, Myst, Riven AND Exile. :D Both were hard to beat and Exile was sort of as hard but I managed. I remember playing Myst on my dad's old old old IIsi and just barely ran. Graphics are still so-so nowadays but I suggest you get realMyst for a fully 3D experience on Myst.

Myst was so vauge and ambigious that I gave up on it. I got the combination right to open up the lighthouse-thing, but then locked it again and haven't figured out how to open it up again. I also don't get what's with the guy and the staticy thing in the background in the library-area.

(This is the beginning part)

The guys in the libray is the guy who send you to myst's sons... they're trapped in a prison like thing and you have to go to the five ages and retrive a "page" red or blue from the place. One you have all five you must decide on which one you want to help...or take the alt route *hint* btw the guys get clearer with the more pages you bring...

Played Myst and loved it. Played Riven and loved it. Played Exile and thought it was very good. My only real complaint with Exile was the various "Ages" didn't feel as complete - they were clearly just backdrops for solving puzzles. In the other games they felt like part of the story, and had stories of their own, even if you could never know them. These were more "cardboard cutouts" of the real thing, not the real thing, itself.
