Team Bonuses ?

Similar to age of empires, each faction gets a team bonus. You start with your own team bonus. Anyone that allies you gets your bonus and you get their bonus (While the alliance is active).

Are you talking about something like Leader Abilities and Civilization Abilities?

You would get something like
Civilization Bonus - Only you get this bonus if you pick this civilization
Leader Bonus - Only you get this bonus if you pick this leader
Team Bonus - You get this bonus when you pick this civilization. Anyone that allies you gets this bonus while they are allied to you.
