Tech Proposal
Greetings friends at CFC!

On behalf of Apolyton, I would like to make the following proposal to you:

We would be intersted in offering you the secrets of Map Making, as well as a copy of our world map...

in exchange for...

The secrets of Mathematics and Horseback Riding, as well as a copy of your own world map.

Trading WMs? The only problem I have with that is that our maps could get in the hands of certain opponents, especially Gamecatcher. Also, if we trade those techs now, trade them with anyone else so we can get stuff from them also. I know its not against AI, but the same principal of trading with everyone at once should still apply.

There are a couple of points that need to be addressed here:

• We do not know Horseback Riding yet.
• It's a fairly safe bet that Gamecatcher already has plenty of knowledge of our lands and that our map would be very little additional help to them.
• We already have a deal for Map Making from CDG. If we take the time to research Horseback Riding (which may require as many as 10 turns or so), this would certainly be considered bad faith with respect to that deal.

Nonetheless, I don't think we should just dismiss it outright. Once we complete the upcoming transaction with CDG next turn, we should more carefully evaluate our position and then decide what course of action to take from there.

Goonie, I'd suggest stalling on this proposal for at least a few days until we get things sorted out. We may have to submit a counter-offer, but we'll need some time to come up with something that can work.

The thing is Octavian, we are already commited to getting construction. Let us be honourable even if Elucidia won't.

While I am inclined to agree with you Goonie, recent events would seem to require us to obtain Horseback Riding immediately, rather than after Construction.

With that in mind, there may be something we can do to make things right with both teams. Perhaps, we could trade Construction to CDG for Literacy.... Certainly something worthwhile to consider, but no need to broach the subject at this point.

I have an idea. CDG was late giving us Math, so why not be late giving them construction? HbR will only take 6 turns, so I am now in favour out taking a B line towards HbR , while honouring our commitement to Elucidia.
