I picked Masonry only because I believe it is the more advanced tech. I am still not convinced that we are ready for a Palace pre-build yet.
I voted for Ceremonial Burial. It would allow us to build temples and expand our borders.

CB: get something extra in the trade.

Rome CB <-> America ??g (as much as they have and are willing to give)

PEOPLE!! Read what is above. As FA head, I can pratically guarentee that Abe will NOT give us ANYTHING for masonry.
I think you mean he won't give us Masonry for anything (that is, we can't buy it for any price). This is 100% correct. The question is whether he will give us anything for CB, to which the answer is he'll definitely give us some gold, just not sure how much.
Which is more valuable, CB+some gold (30-ish maybe), or Masonry-10gold? Said another way, is Masonry worth more than 40 gold more than CB? Is M > CB+40?
If Masonry is not worth more than CB+40g, then the triange trade is better, at least from a value perspective.
If Masonry is worth more, then the next question lies in the difference between small, early, cumulative effects (temples) vs long-haul dramatic effects (wonders). The benefits of completing something earlier would have to offset the value of the wonder (if we get one) to make trading for a cheaper tech better.
No big deal for me no matter which way it goes. I just prefer to have the right question asked and the right issue raised.

People may want to consider the information that d8575 has raised. I initially voted Masonry, but this definitely makes the acquisition of Ceremonial Burial more palatable. With this new info, either tech would be fine with me.
