Tech Tree & Player Placement Help!

Greetings again...

If anyone could offer input as to how I can shift names, items, orders, progressions of the tech tree, I'd be forever in your debt. *bows deferentially*

Also, since I have combed all thread as civ3mod index info (which I have to mention, the civ3mod interface, with no zoom in or out or ability to cut and paste large areas, etc, really gets me cheesed at 4am :p ), if any more experienced modders could give me a heads up on how I can actually create a cpf and have player start positions fixed, I'd *bow scrape and grovel* even more.

The very first thing you need to do if you are going to start modding the game is familiarize yourself with the editor. Open up the help section of the editor and browse through the various pages to get a good understanding of what can and can not be done.

Second read Plutarck's Tutorial

This has invaulable information.

As for working on the tech tree, I have put together a couple of tutorials on the subject, though some of the information will be obsolete once the new patch is released.

How to Add Techs Without the Game Crashing on You
Not all of this will still be relavent after the patch, but it has some good information.

Science Advisor Tutorial: How to get you Modified Tech Tree to Look Professional Still relevant and the easiest way, though time consuming, to get the advisor screen to look right.
