Which one of the moderators knows how the " On" or "[IMG] Off" function is toggled on and off to allow users to post imaged files included in messages.

Is there a configuration variable that allows moderators to turn this feature on or off for various forums or to specifically limit individual users from completing this task by virtue of their post count our other attributes.

I have checked my usercp and this "[IMG] On" function does not seem to be user controlled. If I have my Image display function enabled in the usercp then I out to see the images and not just a parsed link to where the image file resides.

Not, this is not a problem here on CFC, I'm just trying to figure out a problem that I have been seeing over on the Civ Gomer Netclub.

Very simple... When I create a new forum, I can set whether to allow IMG code, HTML codes, thread ratings, etc, for the forum. It has nothing to do with user postcounts and is not user (or moderator) controlled.

Image codes in sigs would be extremely ugly as people could put big pictures in there. It is a much wiser decision to put it as a smilie. I would enjoy that as a smilie too so I can use it in regular posts without the long image tag.

Absolutely right. No pix in sigs. Put art and pix in a separate thread, not in sig blocks.

In fact, even smilies and small icons should not be in sig blocks. It can really slow things down.... those few that understand all the TCP/IP overhead for a single image request (of any size) know what I mean.

Images in sigs suck big time.
Sometimes I visit a forum in which it is allowed, it's so annoying to scroll through all those images with small pieces of text in between.
