We can trade Code of Laws for sailing, masonry and iron working with Bismarck. This deal is in our favour in beakercount, and I think we should take it.

We can research:
Polytheism (2)
Monarchy (7)
Drama (7)
Math (6)
Philosophy (19)
Paper (14)
Masonry (2)
Horsebackriding (6)
Metal Casting (11)

I think that we should consider Monarchy or Horsebackriding.

Horsebackriding so we can finally build our UU. After trading with Bismarck we can aim for Monotheism (costs 171) instead of Monarchy (costs 429). Monotheism allows us to switch to Organised Religion, which will give cities with our state religion a 25% :hammers: boast. Prerequisite is that we change to Confucianism then. Other bonus of Organised Religion is that we can build missionaries without monasteries.

I'd like to get copper and possibly iron, and keshiks, build an army, and take some french soil. Horsebackriding fits in that plan.

I would agree that we should trade away code of laws to Bismark, it preserves our monopoly on alphabet, which means we may get one more trade in before the AI are able to trade with each other, and it will get us three very useful techs

I'd follow up that trade by researching

Horseback Riding (6) for our UU
Metal Casting (11) so we can get some forges up quickly, and make our production capacity even greater

then I'd suggest a rush towards music so we can get the free great artist, who could either get us a free tech, or sure up our position along the French border if used in city #2. That bit of the path would be.

Mathematics (6)
Polytheism (3)
Literature (5)
Music (18)

Of course this tech path would last for a few turnchats, if approved, so all tech times are in reference to our current research rate, which will surely increase.

I would like to see us decide on an longer term queue rather then just a single tech this time round.

That said... next chance I have to look at the save I'll post a new queue proposal.

horseback riding or ironworking although we may get in a trade for code of law (we get masonary and something else as well)

In relation to what Joe Harker said... here's a post I made in the Chieftain Thread

Bismark is willing to give us Masonry, Iron Working, and Sailing for Code of Laws.

I'm not sure if we want to trade Code of Laws away just yet... but I think this is a deal we really should consider.

I'd say this is a pretty good deal.

I have nothing against it.

@grant2004, beelining for Music might not be a bad idea......

I agree take the deal, if we get a beaker advantage

I fourthed that :p, take the deal.

My Queue

Horseback Riding
Iron Working
Masonry
Polytheism
Monotheism (for Organized Religion)
Metal Casting
Machinery (Crossbowman + Maceman)
Mathematics
Currency (Market)

Eh...... I thought we could trade for Masonry.

Sure, trade.

And after Polytheism, I would put Literature (GL for EA shall pay a lot).

Best regards,

Eh...... I thought we could trade for Masonry.

we can, but it hasn't been made official yet. As such I included it in my queue.

Assuming the trade goes through (and I see no reason why it wouldn't) we would just finish Iron Working... next item is Masonry... but we already have that so on to Polytheism.

As for Literature and the GL, didn't really think about that.

Got no problem with it, if that's what we want to do.

Assuming we trade for Iron Working, Masonry, and Sailing, I suggest we research Horseback Riding.

After that I rather like grant2004's research path of Metal Casting > Mathematics > Polytheism > Literature > Music. I suggest we slip Construction in there somewhere so that we can build Cats; but that can be delayed if we think we'll miss out on researching Music first.
