A half-formed thought on one thing for a Great Priest to do later in the game.
Build a National Wonder.
Not sure of a good name.

Idea is it would be enabled by Mass Media.
Can only be built in a city with the state religion.
Idea is a charismatic preacher using radio and then television to get a mass following.

Not sure what the effects should be.
Could be some combination of:
In city where built: free great priest, extra culture, extra commerce, etc.
In cities with state religion: happiness, etc.
Temples of the state religion: extra culture, extra commerce, etc.

No way. I'm catholic. Seriously, it's a good idea to add new purposes to late appearing Great Prophets. What you call televangelist is literally a (North-)American phenomenon, although there are similiarities with "spiritual" Al-Jazeera-programs that claim to reach 40 millions of muslims or certain South American pentecostal media presences.

I suspect you could find similar phenomena in India, and in general any part of the world rich enough to afford mass media where religion isn't a vanishing force in people's lives (as it is in Western Europe, in many cases)
