Tell us about a game you would make

See the title! I used to want to make SimLife (That was a long time ago when I loved Maxis games) until I discoved The Sims which was basicilly the same thing (Except it was strategy instead of role-playing like I was going to make it.). Now I want to make Civilization IV. In it I'd have combiation units. So you can make units 1/2 swordsman 1/2 archer for example. Also battles wouldn't be completely random (optional. You toggle it in the options menu). When a battle happens the game switches to Battle Mode. In Battle Mode you move the troop divisions around and make strageties to destroy the enemy divisions. Like in the game Caesar II.


What games have you always wanted to make or be made?

I've always wanted a Gaelic Games game. It would consist of both Gaelic Football and Hurling. I doubt anyone would do this because there wouldn't be much demand for it. I would buy it though if it were well done.

I always wanted to make a game that was real time but didn't require twitch reflexes. In order to do this it would have to be a persistant world, ala EverQuest, where battles could take days, real time, to complete. I would have the army that you sent out to battle controlled by a general AI....so that you could not make changes to individual units although you could order them to retreat if you wanted.

I would the game up so the player could always stay in the same view and have menus and shortcut keys to allow them to navigate the map quickly since it would be huge.

Hundreds of players on one map might be cool to follow and so I would have a feature that records the history of the land ownership to anyone that wants to watch, even those people that don't subscribe to the game.

I have a lot more ideas on how to make the game even cooler but I don't want to give it all away.

"Tell us about a game you would make..." NOT a chance!!! Last time I did this, my game was made into a reality by some damn company. I think my idea was stolen. Anyone ever hear of Redneck Rampage? That's right. MY idea. So forget it puglover.

What do you know? I found an old DOS game online that was called, guess what, SimLife! Too bad it wasn't what I wanted.

I would like to make a MMORPG which would be just like Mafia, except as the game plays on so would time. Like one month in the real world would be one year in the game world, so new cars and weapons and stuff will come and go. And you could do jobs like in the Sim in which you could go into buildings and even skyscrapers to do. The controls would be like any first person shooter but it would be like Mafia with the controls with the right button being the options menu and the left button being the action button. As a matter of fact, my MMORPG would be JUST like Mafia except for game time, ability to go into skyscrapers and buildings, do work on computers or taxi's or restraunts or even police jobs, ability to actually buy cars, more than one city and a wide open countryside to drive through or ride on intercity trains or buses or airplanes, AND be able to customize your avatars face.

But I'll only let the Czechs make it 'cause they seem to be pure naturals at making computer games with things like Mafia and Operation Flashpoint!

I would make a game like Warlords Battlecry or Warcraft, only with modern weapons. I'd sure pay to see the look on the orcs faces as my tanks roll in to their little base.

Naturally Orcs and Undead and anyone else for that matter should also be a little more modern. It would be amusing to see the orcs running aroound with machineguns too.

I'd like to make a multiplayer game (no singleplayer) where are a person in the future who gets jobs and does his life. Like The Sims except 1st person. And it would be danger at every turn because murder is a commonplace. You can just whip out your gun and knock people out of the game as a crime lord. Or you could try to stop the evil murderers as a police officer. Or you could make a country with citizens as a dictator. Or you could be a soldier loyal to your country and etc etc.
