The "DL" stands for Double Log-on. When a member of CFC registers a second name and then uses that name to participate in forum privilages.

Moderator Action: Thanks to Thunderfall, a voting inconsistency has been found!. There was a user with 0 posts who registered just to vote for Falcon, giving him 1 more vote than he should have had. This inconsistency led us to issue a run-off poll. Because the user had 0 posts, and did not register, that vote is invalid.


Therefore, Falcon loses 1 vote, and the Military Advisor goes to Sarevok! This poll will now close.

Pathetic, IP check should be run to determine who the scumbag is and they should be summarily banned from the demogames permanently.

It would also be more cumbersome (imagine having to keep track of 60 pm's!!!), and you'd have to check each user's profile. It's much simpler to ask Thunderfall to check the polls.

I agree with Open Ballots (public voting) for elections. With that as default, we wouldn't be getting 66 votes on an election, CT. Open Ballots would not only curtail DLs, but severley hamper the horrible recruiting practices that some people around here have become very good at using.

There could also be a posting quarantine, and to be promoted to be a member of the electorate after some neutral introduction

Wow... I knew someone was messing with it but I didnt think this would be the result...

I think there should be an IP check here. I personally would want to know who that 0-post voter was. I have a large number of enemies in Civ3 C&C, and it might be one of them doing this. I did have alink in my sig to the poll so the Idea is quite possible.

Some might be lurkers, but to be honest, there is no way to tell. I have yet to hear anything from the vast majority. Maybe there should be a link at the beginning of the registry to the Newbies Society.

There is nothing in the rules requiring a citizen to be an active participant. As in most real democracies, many people may do nothing but vote.

I think in the American "democracy", they just lurk. Most don't vote, but they sure like to complain about it.

Eyrei, quite frankly, that is a crock. Two very different situations since vote tampering is being considered on this single, lurking poster. If this just registered individual was legit, dont you think he/she would have posted in this thread by now to explain himself?
