Eyrei, quite frankly, that is a crock. Two very different situations since vote tampering is being considered on this single, lurking poster. If this just registered individual was legit, dont you think he/she would have posted in this thread by now to explain himself?

I would think you are right, Immortal. Anyway, if they can do an IP check, that should be the proof. BTW, I am a techno-idiot, but I was told once that dial ups get different addresses all the time. If that's true, that seems like it would defeat an IP check. But knowing what I know, well...

it matters the isp, but if something criminal happened u can contact the isp and they can track it(but nothing like that show happen on these forums)

hehe, I don't think anyone (in RL) is going to do anything about someone making a DL on a message board to vote in a poll. All TF has to do is find the duplicated IP (if there is one) and ban it.

Immortal, I wasn't even talking about that one lurker. Most likely it was simply a DL of someone who plays the game. What I was saying was that we shouldn't require that people immediately become involved in the game when they join. Some may simply be scared of the more contentious posters...

eyeri is correct. It was a big step for me to make my first post, years ago. Lurking is not a crime. The crime is evident. But the fact that we got a hall of fame vote count of 66 voters is not caused by one joker pulling a DL. It's much deeper than that.
