Term 3 - Edo Province

I did the worker jobs, govenor.Would you like me to upload the save?
Hm.. you can't do that :) There is no need to upload the save.
The president is only player who is actually playing the moves. We instruct him how to play. You should instruct him what do you want to be done:
i.e.
- Mine and road that hill with those 2 workers (5 turns)
- Then irrigate and road plain tile (4 turns)
- Start mining another hill...

Also include building queues..

ok?

Post instructions for your city here. I will then post it in turnchat instruction thread and president will folow them in turnchat. That way your city will be maintained as you think it is the best.
If there is any need we can discuss the instruction in this thread. You can also post suggestions for all other cities in the province (worker suggestions, building qeues, borrowing/lending other cities tiles etc.).

In the turnchat thread?

he said post here, and please dont play the save again, for reference here is article k:
Article K. All irreversible game actions must progress during a
public turnchat, while reversible game actions(ie build
queues) that adhere to legal instruction can be prepared
offline.
plus only the dp can do it

With our golden age upon us, I propose the very serious idea of building a Great Wonder in one of our cities (gasp!). The wonder is open to discussion, but I personally recommend the Sistine Chapel based on the massive happiness bonus, plus being continent independent. The wonder choices are:
Sistine Chapel (great for curbing unhappiness in all cities)
Leo's Workshop (won't upgrade that many units so not that significant)
Bach's Cathedral (possibility but Chapel is better imho and a lot of research to do)
Smith's Trading Co (too much research but some financial benefit)
The other wonders are not really useful for us.
The best city based on shield production is Shorin-Ryu (proximity to the capital means low corruption). Also for consideration are En'gha and Odawara
I'll start a proper discussion thread later tonight, but wanted to get an initial feedback.

The proposal is worth considering... Obviously first choice for Wonder city in our province is Shorin-Ryu. Personally, I wouldn't allow other cities in this province to build wonders because it would be waste of time (except possible Forbidden Palace in Odawara).
The problem is the number of wonders we are going to build. I think public opinion is only 1 wonder at the moment and the best wonder city is undoubtely Fanatikku. Second choice is probably Zojoji because it has most improvements already built. We can get some advantage with Shorin-Ryu over Zojoji because it can produce 2-3 shields more but that is probably insufficient advantage.
I think it is better to concentrate on building improvements and army in Shorin-Ryu for now. But certainly in the future, by the end of Middle Age or beginning of Industrial Age Shorin-Ryu will be 1st or 2nd top producer in Japanatica, and that will be imo perfect time for building wonders in Shorin. I'm looking forward to Smith's wonder and Hoover's Dam in Shorin-Ryu..

Concerning the Wonders choice I agree with you. Anyway, wonders and cities which will be chosen to build them should be polled. We'll then considerall pros and cons and let the citizens to decide.

Odawara: Marketplace (7) >> Cathedral (5) >> Samurai (5)
**Give Odawara 1 En'Gha hill (laborer switch from desert to hill) -DON'T FORGET
Shorin-Ryu: Marketplace (1) >> Cathedral (4) >> Samurai (4) >> Samurai (4)
*switch desert and forest to 2 mined hills
En'Gha: Cathedral (2) >> Marketplace (7) >> Samurai (5)
*work at the hill workers are on (instead of the hill which is going to be given to Odawara)
Corrino: Marketplace (7) >> Cathedral (8)

Workers:

Mine Odawara hills!
Clear and irrigate 1 Corrino forest!

Please follow laborer and worker instructions precisely.
--------------
Mayors, there is around 24 hours until TC so use that time to suggest any changes you think of.

I encourage the Governor to take advantage of our Golden Age of Prosperity and build improvements instead of Samurai. When all useful improvements, or if an improvement would be irrelevant to the city, are completed then continue with the productuion of Samurai.

Governor Invy,

I request That the build queue for Shorin-Ryu be changed to the following:
University
Samurai
Samurai
Bank

With the high level of commerce, this city is better suited to commercial and scientific growth instead of promoting military might. Since it is very unlikely that we'd declare war on the Iroquois while they are roaming our lands, the University would be more of a priority. I think it's important that we start on the bank sooner or later.
Other improvements needed to be scheduled later on:
Courthouse
Colosseum
Naturally with a very likely attack on the purple menace, granary not required.

Worker actions:
As the city has enough worked tiles for size 12 growth, not an issue.

Request accepted. I think we could even build Bank before Samurais.
I suggest: University >> Bank because we have enough Samurais and Swordsman for possible war.

Governor-san,

Your recommendations are whole-heartedly accepted, though might change to a wonder soon.
Current build order:
University
Bank
Samurai (as needed)

or

Sistine Chapel / Smith's Trading Thingamejig
I think if we build the wonder, we have to start asap so that there is less danger of being overtaken.

Odawara: Bank (4) >> University (9)
En'Gha: Granary (3) >> University (14) >> Bank (11)
Corrino: Cathedral (3) >> University (16)
Shorin-Ryu: University (8) >> Bank (6) or Wonder
TBD2(Duckburg): Library
- switch mine to grasland after the temple is built
*Roman cities: Temples >> Courthouses (workers in DP discretion)
Rome:

Workers

Odawara: Irrigate floods and build 1 mine
Engha: Irrigate floods and build 1 mine
Corrino: Clear 1 forest (Corrino can't grow)
TBD2(Duckburg): Build mines on 2 grasslands, clear the jungles

Laborers:

Rome, Ravenna and Hispalis laborers can either work or be used as specialists (at DP discretion).

Governor Invy,

I have here submitted my request for Gubernatorial Endorcement of new Provincial Borders.

I am proceeding with my plan specified in Post 11 in the Term 3 Provincial Congress.

As Governor of Edo Province, I need your concent to:
A: Split the Province, as currently, most, if not all, of Triba's territory currently falls under Edo.
B: The Ceesion of Ulundi from Edo to the Zulu half of the Northern Territory.

I thank the Governor for his (or her, I'm still not sure...) consideration.

Governor of Edo Province supports this fine proposal!

I'll say it again here:

Do not extend the proposal beyond our current borders. The provinces layed out in those directions are short sighted and are, even now, far too large and badly organized. The only change needed is to seperate Rome. When and if we conquer anything else we can chop it up however.

Odawara: University (10) >> Samurai
Shorin-Ryu: Bank (6) >> Samurai (4) >> Granary
Duckburg: Library (16)
En'Gha: University (10) >> Bank
Corrino: University (9) >> Bank
Roman cities: Continue current production (Omi: workers)

Workers:
- Mine En'Gha hills
- Clear forests and jungles around Corrino and Duckburg

Governor Invy,
I had noticed that your build queues include both Universities and Banks. I've seen it noted throughout various strategy threads that building both is often a waste as most players either go 100% science or close to 0% science. I'm just thinking about the long term goals. In any case, we will probably want at least 5 banks within our country so that we can build Wall Street eventually, but I thought I would bring this to your attention, especially as we are beginning a war soon and may need the production for Military units.

Regards - MOTH

I personally like to go to max science and thus I'm giving advantage to Universities. Since we need five Banks and cities in Edo are large and very productive I think we should have some Banks there. Odawara already has the Bank, Corrino is large commerce produce so it should have Bank and I'll post instructions for En'Gha Bank but with option to switch Bank to Samurai if needed... Shorin also needs Bank but it is producing Smiths...
That would be 3 Banks in Edo + 2 Banks in Fanatikku and Zojoji...

Thanks for suggestion!

Shorin-Ryu: Smiths
Corrino: University >> Bank
Odawara: University >> Samurais
Duckburg: Library >> Barracks
En'Gha: University >> Bank
*DP may switch this Bank to Samurai's if necessary but FINISH the University
-------------------------------
Doomsvile: Courthouse >> Barracks >> Library
Other ex Roman cities: continue current production

Workers:

- clear jungles and forests around Corrino and Duckburg
