Welcome to the Foreign Affairs office. Our objective is quite clear. We are here to completely fool the stupid AI that we are their friends, so they would help us achieve our goals. We also here to make sure the stupid AI doesn't do anything to hinder our goals. BTW, can't you tell that we are people persons?

Term 2 Foreign Affairs

We have some trouble on our hands. It looks like we got caught in a war with two nations. We need to maintain decent relations with the others. We can't have more wars.

 

[Bootstoots]

I will take over the FA office temporarily while Zarn is gone tomorrow. I'm sure both he and I agree that there are to be no treaties other than peace treaties, especially no more MA's.

 

[Zarn]

Or the breaking of treaties for that matter. Boots, I may not be back 'til Monday. You have my authorization to get a chat rep if you think we need one.

Here is a summary of our current treaties and when they expire:

RoP with Greece, 10 turns (410 AD)
RoP with Egypt, 14 turns (450 AD)
Alliance with Egypt versus the Aztecs, 14 turns (450 AD)
Alliance with Egypt versus America, 18 turns (490 AD)
Alliance with Greece versus America, 18 turns (490 AD)

We are exporting horses to Egypt as part of our alliance treat against America. Our Egyptian allies do not have iron now that Pi-Rameses has fallen to the Aztecs. Our Greek allies have neither horses nor iron.

I would like to report that our alliance with Egypt against the Aztecs ended prematurely when Cleopatra and Montezuma made peace. We did not break the alliance treay, Egypt did. This did allow us to make an early peace with Montezuma as well. We received the Aztec cities of Tula and Teayo as payment from the Aztecs for daring to settle in our lands.

We still have an RoP with Egypt that may be ended in 450 AD if we so desire. I ask the FA department to look into this matter and post instructions, though I would remind everyone that we still have Legions in Egypt that must return home.

Our RoP agreement with Greece may also be ready for renewal or ending. I ask the FA department to post instructions regarding this as well.

Our alliances against America will end in 490 AD. Lincoln has already contacted us in an effort to make peace. His overtures were rebuffed as making peace would have broken our treaties and the FA Department posted instructions not to break treaties. Since the treaties will expire soon I ask FA to post appropriate instructions regardng the making of peace with America. Currently Abe offers us the choice of one of these cities: Buffalo, Houston or San Francisco.

We can renoegotiate the following peace treaties:

Persia: we get 3gpt and 6g
Egypt: we get 13g and WM

Everyone else is pretty much broke...

The treaty with Greece should be left alone - they are paying us 5gpt.

PLease decide on these two treaties. I think the Persian deal should be done for sure.

Persia Gives: WM, 40g

Greece Gives: Gunpowder, WM

Russia Gives: 30g, WM

I think we should deal with China, though we should think on what tech to trade. I know Banking and Astronomy are techs we would rather have to ourselves, but I think the deal with China should be at least disscussed.
