The Alternate Gender Leader Project

Hey, this is one amazing project you are working on! Keep this up!

Any leaderheads you still need?

Looks great. Looking forward to test it, thank you!

Wow. This has come up twice today. Registering isn't a big deal; it's the most active SMAC forum on the web.

But gosh, posting those .zips again won't kill me-

- However, you have to go there to get my more recent work...

Here's the Crossfire factions. As I said upthread, there wasn't any point to doing alternate gender aliens- or Cha Dawn.

I will register there eventually, but another forum might kill me ;)

Thank you! Only the original game works well for me, thus I will test these as soon as I can.

I finally had the chance to test them all (original AC). You did an awesome job with them!

Here's what I thought:
Zakharov - really nice and cute face. Unknown age, but youthful appearance like the male counterpart. Perfect match. One minor correction: if the character is still Russian, the proper surname should be "Zakharova".
Daniel - exact counterpart of Deidre. No comments.
Martin - really good choice for the name. I found his face to be dominating the screen during negotiations, perhaps the face could be smaller.
Santiago - Here's a guy that trully dominates the screen. A perfect warrior no match for his soft-faced female couterpart. Best pick of all of them. However, this guy's face really dominates the screen. Making him smaller would make the players feel less threatening.
Yang - very well done, but, in my impression, the girl follows more traditions of imperial, rather than communist China. The girl needs some tougher facial features to look more communist.
Morgan - great capitalist pig :D A younger woman would not hurt, but the lady fits perfectly.
Finally sister Lal is sweet and charming. I'd rather have her on my council than that two-faced brother Lal. Really nice job.

Overall, I have to say that you did an awesome job and the changes are very playable as they are now. My comments are in the line of improvements that would make them perfect, at least for me. If you have other graphical or other AC projects, do let us know! I hope this small review was a tiny bit useful.

Well, sir. I am- you are the first person to go to this much trouble to give me feedback. Most only mention one or two. Thanks. I am especially interested in your point about Provost Zakharova- now that you mention it, yes, of course.

I'm not convinced, however, that there's anything bad about having the Believers and Spartans seem menacing- I'd have to go back and have a look at the large .bmps I saved of those portraits to see how feasible re-crops are, and I'd like to hear more opinions first...

A Christmas scenario I did roughly half the art for was released yesterday, and can be found here. This is all Christmas factions- Santa, Scrooge and so on- with a winter terrain, and Larrin Christmased the art for a number of Projects and facilities icons, too. Should be fun.

Gelion, if you have any ideas, pictures, and so on for any custom factions, feel free to post in Taking Requests or start a new thread. I like collaborating,

Somehow I missed your response. Glad I remembered to check back!

I am glad that made sense.

That was exactly my idea as well, to listen how the other players react. To me, the two looked a little too large for the diplomacy screen. If more people notice it, you'd know what to make them 20% smaller.

I am not a great fun of Xmas things, but it looks fun enough to try just for the sake of it. Thanks! :goodjob:

Great! My time is spread thinly between Civ2 (design and PBEMs), playing few games and the famous "real-life". I would surely contribute to any project if you need ideas or lore input.

My great mod plan, that I have for almost any game I am playing, is to convert AC into Civilization future game. You have 7 race factions, "design-able" military units and 3D terrain. It would make a great setting for any future Earth scenario or even a Moon colonisation mod! If anything like that is going on I'd be very interested in participating!

You did a great job and I hope you'd call on me if you need any input for AC.

You could probably talk your way onto the GotM team at WPC AC. We're working on a scenario incorporating the Alt. genders of the original seven factions for next week.

(I'll link the scenario here when it's up.)

Alinestra is changing most of the names and got me to replace Chrisanto's portrait, but still. If that sounds interesting to you...

I don't think I've mentioned, but it fascinates me that the only consistent feedback I get on this set is that Bro. Marvin rocks. Everyone likes/hates different ones beyond that...
