The Amazing Race: An Interactive Gameshow

Okay.

I was the first done, do I get a bonus? :p
Two people already answered this question when it was asked by... asked by you!

I will join if you clarify one thing-
Is it the first person to complete it or the quickest time it is done in? I ask this because not everyone is on at the same time.

Based on my understanding, it is how quickly in Civ game turns that we are able to accomplish something, not what time GMT we finish.

It's the quickest time in-game. Which means the date inside the save, not real time. If it was measured in real time, Olaf would be losing each round :p

In fact, the way you asked originally made it sound like you would have only played if time zones were not a factor. Now you want to get a BONUS for being in a convenient time zone? :crazyeye:

Spoiler :
I chose the Merchant task. I built settlers scouts non-stop from the capital for extra exploration. But it was my lowly... and slow... warrior that finally found the merchant on T34.

@ Red Spy

We can't see the turn number in your screen shot.

For SamSniped's Eyes Only
Spoiler :
I would have to say that you got a little lucky. Had your 3 warriors headed east right from the start, you would have been very late. Why did you keep your warriors together the whole time?

For Dhoomstriker's Eyes Only
Spoiler :
Stop reading the spoilers if you're not done yet, you cheater!!

I know. Each time I tried to take it, it doesn't show. Also, I didn't save the game, due to not having a reason too do it, I can not go back and try to post it. Sorry :(

Your screen shot looks more like turn 58 to me... :D

BTW, if you have Autosave turned on, you may have a saved game that you don't know about...

And it is there!

Spoiler :
Okay, I was off by 5 turns. It was 33, name changed to avoid cheaters.

Ah HA! :mischief:

I've also added the rule changes for the Merchant Challenge to the challenge post (About the whole "adding 10 turns" thing)

I'm going to reveal this to the public, as I did Destruction and see no way you could cheat by looking at someone elses pics. Plus, I am very close to forfeiting.

My finish time:

(2560 BC, T36)

And um... RS, I'm pretty sure reaching the merchant in 28 turns is impossible... After I completed my challenge I sent out scouts and explored the entire map, and then built a warrior in the capital, and right clicked on the spot where the Merchant was, and it gave me an ETA of 30 turns.

@Mosher: Like a said, the screenshot I took did not record the turn nimber, and forgot to save that turn, so I was trying to give my best guess. When Mitchum reminded me of auto-save, then I found the correct turn number.

For SamSniped's Eyes Only

Spoiler :
@Mitchum-I didn't keep them together all the time. Are you accusing me of cheating?

Not at all. I'm saying that if you had turned right instead of left or had the merchant been to the right, you would have had a much later date. I was just wondering why you kept the warriors together. I guess it's possible that we would have had to fight a battle to capture the merchant, in which case keeping them together would have been better...

use the 3 warriors given to "capture" the merchant
This sentence states that all 3 Warriors must be used to capture the Merchant. So, anyone that did not capture the Merchant using all 3 Warriors grouped together and attacking at the same time has technically failed the challenge.

Had this sentence said "use 1 of the 3 warriors given to 'capture' the merchant" then you would have been fine. So, I am afraid that technically, your game is disqualified.

Realistically, nearly everyone will have split up their Warriors, so all of the games will count, but I would not be surprised to see people "lose" a future round for failing to follow the instructions as stated.

Ideally, saying something like "Use one of your units to capture the Merchant; you have been provided with 3 Warriors to help with this task" might have been even better, because then someone could have still won had they built a 4th Warrior that made the capture (it's pretty tough to check for someone having done so, thus you might as well have a broad enough rule that allows it to happen).
