Well, we wanted a mod that had all the major Civs of the Americas, past and present. That is why America, Canada, Cuba etc are in the mod. Theres always the possibility of more appearing later though.

Civarmy: I was thinking we should use a GIANTIC Map of the Americas for the mod. Something so big, all the civs would have room to grow pretty big even if they are close to other civs.

I think it is a good idea use present countries and native civilizations in this mod, I think it is a good idea too add these four new native civis that I did or i'm almost finishing: Sioux, Cherokee, Navaho and Jês (the lords of Amazon). To balance I think we can add more 4 present countries, I think the Jorde's Uruguayan civ is ready in somewhere, I have to ask him. The oher tree one could be Nicaragua (represent the continental meso american present countries), Chile and Peru. The Mod starts with 24 civis instead 16.

- What do u think Sword?
- Sourbon, thanks for the tips! We can add in the future more civis, the Caribbean could be a good idea to represent the natives from Meso America Islands. I really wanna build this civi, maybe in the future.
- SoG, I did a bid American Continent map time ago, it is available in http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?threadid=82487 , the image is:

This image is old, I have already fixed the error of the Texan-Mexican border ;)

Pretty close to what he looked like. I'd make his hair red, maybe fading to grey on the sides perhaps.

Great map btw. We'll use that as the standard map of the mod. Maybe we should include Quebec like that other guy suggested. It seems to me that there are so many Meso and South American civs. Also, the Caribeans are a good idea for another civ.

I have to do some changes in this leader, maybe I post a new preview in hour, as the new preview os the native american civis ;)
I have a idea to do in the future, now now, I mod with civis that are parts of them countries, as Quebec, California state, São Paulo state (Brazil), Prussia, Manchuria, Basco Country (Spain)... maybe Quebec can join in this mod, for ACM, a think it is fine for the first version theses civis: the first 16 + Sioux, Cherokee, Jês, Navaho, Nicaragua, Uruguay, Chile and Peru. If they are too many civis in can add just the four first natives, I don't know with the Uruguayan civ was launched.

It isnt yet... havent had much time to do it lately, but last week I managed to complete last two eras (without the pcxs)... I think I'll be able to finish the leaderhead next week (in fact, ancient era is almost done... though I havent decided on the details of medieval era), and then the city list would be quite easy to make...

We would be glad with the Uruguayan civ join in the ACM, post more previews if you have ;)
Sword, I think we can add this one, these 4 natives (almost finished) and more one civ, maybe Caribbeans.

The Caribs would start on the islands in between N.America and S.America, south of Cuba. They are a good addition. If you do do a Carib leaderhead, remember to have lots of Palm Trees in the background. The Caribeanen are the vacation spot for millions today for a reason after all. Maybe make him look like a tourest in the modern era?

The only problem with starting the Caribs there is that they're trapped on a tiny island until they develop map making. Maybe this scenario could include some kind of primitive transport for which there is no prerequisite? I would suggest a canoe (I think that there's one in the Unit Library), perhaps with a transport capacity, movement, and defense of 1 and an attack strength of 0.

The Caribs of course should start in their historic location, but I think that this proposal will help to reduce the inherent disadvantages.

I admit I didn't ready much (okay none) of this thread: PLEASE CHOOSE MÉXICO. By the way, I like how you added the é to México. Whenever I play a scenario with Mexico I change it to México. By the way, if you were to have more civs, what civs would you choose? Obviously México, Uruguay, Chile, but what else? Keep up the good work. Personally I would add Bolivia, Columbia, maybe a Central American civ like Nicaragua, and Anasazi.

These poll worked when the number of civis was 16, today it is 22. Mexico (not México, my mistake  ) won the poll, plus we added 5 natives and 1 present country, that is Uruguay, cos there is a Uruguayan leader almost finished. The five natives are: Jês, Caribs, Cherokee, Sioux and Navaho.
Course, in the future I hope add more present countries (as natives), Nicaragua and Chile are the favourites.

Actily you can use this mod in the map that u want (random map system), exemple, if u want play in a small map of Oceania, it is possible. I will add some maps of Americans with the real starting location, I think Caribs can start togheter with Cuba in the main island of this sea, since the point is correct location (not good distribution), there is not problem they start too close ;)

Heres some ideas I was playing with for the ACM Mod.

It would be nice if we followed a more realistic progression than in normal Civ3.

First Era Techs:
................................................................Stone Age...........................
1. Hunting
2. Fishing
3. Forraging
4. Fire
5. Woodworking
6. Stoneworking
7. The Wheel
8. Canoe Building
9. Archery
10. Warrior Code
11. Ancestor Worship
12. Shamanism
13. Pottery
14. Farming
15. City Building
16. Mining
.......................................................................Bronze Age...................
17. Copper Working
18. Smelting
19. Boat Building
20. Bronze Working
21. Art of War
22. Cartography
23. Ceremony
24. Domestication
25. Horseback Riding

Sword, the first idea of the tech tree is cool, we can add more techs in these eras. For the 3rd I suggest call "European Domination" and the 4th could start when the continent gets its political freedom, could be something like "the birth of the new World" or "Rise of Democracies". ;)

---------------------------------------------
These are some images of the tribes, some leaderheads were changed, as the middle age of Navaho, but the base is it. Plus we added Inuit and Mapuche, that were not done by me.

nativos.jpg

I was figuring the first age of techs would be devided up into the Stone Age and Bronze Age. The Second Age would start with Pyramid Building, Code of Laws, and later more Medival-like techs. The End of the second age would see the first effects of European Contact, Firearms, techs like Christianity etc.

Third Age and Fourth Age are up in the air at this point.

I found the treat Sword!
Well, I will do new advertasing material and post, maybe we can add it in our sign, what do u think? Also the ACM link, as I did.
Lets decide all the tech tree, I think it is the easy step that we can do, in the same time I continue doing the civis/leaderheads (Sitting Bull, Dom Pedro II, Emiliano Zapata from Mexico...). We must:
- decide the name of the 4 eras
- decide if it is 4 eras
- choice the techs of these eras
- choice the order (what if requesit for what) of the techs
- when we had this ready, we can search for the icons and civilopedia entry.

St Gelven helped much when I did the Neanderthal scenario tech tree, it is a good idea if he can join us, maybe typing texts, searching texts, searching icons, helping choice the order... There is a long time he does not post in CFC, I just send him some e-mails (he is helping me the civilopedia entry of dozens of civis), I have to send him a e-mail asking him if he want help if this tech tree.

I like the new Mod Poster Civarmy! You have alot of Civs under your name now come to think of it. The only one with that many civs is R8XFT!

it is the most ameasing tech tree that I ever saw  This is a really good work SoG, and, yahoo!, it will be part of ACM!!!
maybe we can add more techs as "concept of civilization" and the 1st era and "centre of the empire" and the 2nd one, "bloody cult" and "archer" r other suggestions.
I'll call St. Gelven asking him if he could help us with civilopedia entry and icons.

Yes, it could use some work. I'm glad you like it though. I was thinking of Government Techs, I had a few in there, but some were missing.

For Governments, I was thinking:

Chiefdom(Default Starting Government)

Blood Cult(Nasty form of Fundamentalism with some Dynastic Monarch Thrown in)

Monarchy

Feudalism

Tribal Confederacy(The Government used by the Iroquois, Cherokee and Sioux during the 16th to 19th centuries, and to some extent today)

Democracy

Social Democracy(A form of Democracy used in Canada and other nations of our hemisphere).

Communism(As practiced in Cuba)

Fascism(As seen in various S. American Nations in the past)

I also think we should use these Culture Groups:

Native American
Canada/US(European Basically)
Latin American

I have a Native American city set with 4 eras that R8XFT made for me we could use.

For the government type I suggest:
- Democracy (countries that have free election)
- Dictadorship (as happened in South America in many times)
- Communism (as Cuba and maybe some countries in Meso America for a while, some native tribes also used a Primitive Communism)
- Monarchy (Brazil and Mexico was Monarchies in the past, other natives civis too)
- Chiefdom (despotism, just change the name)
- Tribal Council (as the natives confederences as Iroquois, Tupi for a while...), maybe we can join this one with Chiefdom.
- Feudalism (as the native empires of Latin America, as Inca)
- Bloody Cult (American continent fundamentalism)

Maybe some civis can get 4 or 5 options, not all them, it is possible to do, but I don't know how. Maybe the natives can be feudalism, tribal council... and the present countries democracy, communism...

For the division I think it is perfect as Natives (R8XFT model), North America Countries (instead European cities in Civ 3) and Latin America Countries (we can use that good Latin America city graphics available here).

For our next step I suggest to order the tech tree, as I did in this one (this is part of Neanderthal scenario tech tree), do u have a image editor that can do a image like the above one?
