I will never buy a game computer/console. I swear to pc's.

No more updating drivers, turn this off, reset this..etc.Games work straight out of the box!
Power to the consoles!!

Software MAKES the console.
I don't care how powerful the XBox or Gamecube is/could be. If they have no games I want to play, they are no good for me. Once they build up a stronger software library and the aforementioned cross-platform games are released, THEN the hardware becomes a factor. The new generations of consoles will be released before this happens though and Sony will again have a massive software library on release day.
I bought a Sega Genesis. I bought a Sega CD. I learned my lesson and stayed the hell away from the Dega Saturn and Dreamcast. Better safe than sorry. Sony has done me well, no need to go turncloak on them.

Since when did the PS2 have a massive software library at launch? What makes you so sure the PS3 will be so sucessful? The new PSX, which is basically a PS2, is obviously an indicator that the next real console is being delayed, most likely until 2007. The N5 (temp name for next Nintendo console) is coming out late 2005 at the latest, and Xbox2 will hit somewhere in between.
And if a large software library means everything, then by that logic, either the PC or the GBA is the best console. And since now you can play GBA games on the GC with the GBPlayer, then the GC has the largest library then.![]()

What Thrawn said. Literally THOUSANDS of games to be played on a PS2 without counting any PS2 games. As for what makes me so sure PS3 will be so successful... PS is to consoles what EA is to software. Didja know EA is worth more than all the other software companies combined? Name recognition, name loyalty... PS3 or whatever you want to call it was scheduled for 2005 since PS2 came out.
N5...? What reasons to buy it unless you want to play a new Zelda or Metroid or Mario? Aside from those three... I don't know if more Final Fantasy is coming out for Nintendo or not but it would obviously help.
GBA?? Please. The quality of these games is pathetic compared to a true console. It is a handheld PDA so obviously it will be limited in what it can do.
The installed platform base for PS was huge which practically guaranteed PS2 success. You don't think Sony will Make PS3 the same way? ALL PS and PS2 games available to be played on a PS3 at launch plus a few cheesy launch games as the norm requires. I stick with what I know. I had my share of vaseline in the bugger from Sega. I will avoid that in the future the best I can. So what next generation console will I be buying? The new Sony product.![]()

I prefer the GBA to stay 16-bit, as it will keep 2-D alive. I like to think of it as a handheld SNES, not a weak "true" console, mostly because 3-D is NOT necessarily better than 2-D.

Again Silverflame, it comes down to software IMO, and as of RIGHT NOW, Sony leads the pack. That is definitely changing, but I don't know if it will be enough. Maybe a matter of too little too late. Nintendo is changing their 'for the kids' image and they do have some big deals in the works. Hell, XIII bought a GBA JUST to play FFTA. I'm sure he'll pick up some other games for it eventually but we all know FF is a big name to have signed to your console.

While I own a PS2, which is great, and I am fond of my PC (civilisation BABY), I voted Dreamcast. T'was my first console since the days of the Mega Drive and it can play what are still some pretty groovy games, including several of my all-time favourites. This be including Skies of Arcadia, Virtua Tennis and Soul Calibur...though the sequel WILL be given a new home in my PS2
And on another note - how nice to see everyone rather calmly remarking which system they like without anyone slandering them. My goodness the arguements I've seen...tis all rather silly really.![]()
Last game I ever played on a PC was Dungeon Master...![]()
