The harmony choice of free to the scientist eventually leads to giving you 5 less damage taken from miasma, but with the 8 affinity harmony your units take no damage in miasma. Even in the original game harmony eventually take no damage from miasma. The bonus should be + 5 healing in miasma or 5 auto heal in miasma.
