And here is why:

Assumeing that all factions are created equal, and that Democratic and Free Market are the BEST Social Engineering Choices...... then the Believers easily take it.

Watch this Comparision Table:

1. Gaian = Not Free Market
2. Yang = Not Democratic
3. Morgan = -Support doesn’t go well with Democratic
4. University = = Average
5. Spartan = +Police doesn’t go well with Free Market
6. Believers = +Support goes well with Democratic, -Planet goes well with Free Market
7. Peacekeepers = Average

Isnt this just plain AWESOME? I mean like the Believers are soooo cool because of this......

I LOVE Democratic because Growth and Efficiency. Also, I LOVE Free Markets because of the Econ bonus!

The Believers are by far the best warmonger faction, even more than the supposedly militant Spartans. They suck for builder strategies, but everyone should know that already.

Market is good for the Believers' early game, to research key techs - namely, PlaNets - and raking in the money during peacetime. Market is very bad for war, though - even if they have a means to handle the unhappiness, their planet penalty means they cannot counter psi units effectively (-40 psi attack? ouch).

That's what probe teams and military units are for, maniac.

Admittedly, Believers are the only faction I have never played a game with to the end, so I may not have a clue what I'm talking about, but IIRC simply researching three techs (CentEco + two to get to probes or FM) already takes ages for them, and puts them at a severe disadvantage compared to when playing other factions.

believers do well unless they start isolated and can't bully techs from others. By the time they find other civs, they are too far behind usually (maps with lots of fungus/sea)
