Hello all, im trying to organise a big game of FFH patch J with minimum of 8 players maybe some AI.
  • Game to be played every sunday from about 10 am-3pm GMT
  • If you can't make a sunday then lets us know as far in advanced as possible, we will call it off for that sunday or arrange to play another time that week if pos.
  • If someone drops out for to many weeks we will just play on without them or find someone to take over their empire
  • All skill levels welcome its just for fun. Id recomend playing your race at least once on single player though so you have a feel for them.

You Need:
1. MSN messanger - Got to contact you outside of game
2. Windows XP - The reason i ask for this is due to extensive playing both over LAN and Internet i have identified that OOS occurs when vista and XP are used in the same game. Ive never had an OOS with just XP or just Vista machines. Obviously i cant monitor your OS but if OOS occurs and continues then the game will be over.
3 ADSL - i assume nearly everyone has it this day and age any way.

Rules:
Map type: Tectonic - Lakes (30%) water, Aridity Level = Normal
Map Size: To be decided - Dependant on player number
Victory conditions: All except time
*End of winter will be on
Turns: We can vote wether to do simultaneous or not (I cant make my mind up wich is best)
Play how ever you like - game starts out as an FFA; anything goes remeber its just for fun.

Post here if your up for it along with the race you want to be. First come first served basis with regards to race (everyone has to be a different one) and who gets in the game.

Teams so far:
1.Horadrim - Calabim
2.SMIFFGIG's - Sidar
3.Morni - Lurchip
4.Danielseses - Svatlafar
5.smusebaer - Lanun
6.Arctic Circle - Sheaim
7. Ecco - Grigori

7 players is pretty good id be happy to play as soon as youve all picked ur teams. Having said that if anyone else reading this wants in then feel free to add yourself. I think im going to cap it at 10 people though. The more we have the less likely we will be able to get everyone together on sundays.

Game will be on SUNDAY the 13th

I'd want to join, but don't have Vista. You're too picky :)

Well thats sad :-( i really wanted a game. If we can get the OOS fixed within the next patch then ill bear you in mind. Im going to run some tests for Kael tomoz that may help id the problem.

Please if any one wants to take part in this big game let me know. Cant believe no ones interested, thaught id have 8 people within the day seeing as this mod is so popular.

Lots of people like FFH2.

Few people like Vista.

Good luck gettin anyone who uses Vista sides yourself.

Well im taking steps to try and change it to xp seeing as you lot wanna play but arent on vista, in which case ill contact all of u. If any one fancies a smaller game in the mean time (on XP) send us a message.

but the projekt to find the damm oss ...
yes go on..
many pepole stay behind you and wait for the Results..

Well, I'll be lookin forward to you pmin me and us all havin an xp game.

A suggestion, now I have had the experience that despite people say 'I have the latest version of xxx etc' you still get 'not the same core files' or similar problems. Am I the only one with that sort of history? Anyhow, you can solve that by installing a fresh version of the Mod, calling it 'The Big Game' and then distributing that folder in a zipped version to all participants. That way -everyone- have the same mods, modmods and modmodmods..

Yeah, I was interested, but only schoolkids and gamers can sit up until 3 in the morning on the night before a workday. :old:

It's 10 AM to 3 PM (15:00), unless you're in a different timezone of course.
Oh, and I haven't really decided on a civ yet, since I have no experience with multiplayer games at all. Will post here once I decide.

Damn, I jus realized that 10AM to 3PM in +0 GMT is 4PM to 7PM in -6 GMT. Well, that works anyway. So, yeah, still in.

We should doublecheck that everyone has the same build version. Mine is Civ Version: 317, Build Version: 3.1.3.1 (104717). Make sure yours checks out. Also, turn off modular loadin, as I'm sure we all have different modmods.

This can be done in the .ini file, which is filepath C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods\Fall from Heaven 2 032\Fall from Heaven 2 032.ini. Change it to fit the spoiler below.

Spoiler :
Change this:
; Modular XML Loading
ModularLoading = 1

to this:
; Modular XML Loading
ModularLoading = 0

@ Rocklikeafool I think you made a mistake and -6 GMT means 4 am to 9 am.
because I am at +2 GMT and that means + 2 hours.

@ Horadrim,
I don´t like to install MSN. If got a messanger allready (Skype).
And I would like to play the lanun.

it would cool if it could be recorded from an agnostic point of view being able to see everything.

I'm pretty sure you mean omniscient... not sure how "agnostic" could apply.

That said, it would be really cool to be able to watch a replay of the game after it finishes. Beyond the current "see colors expand on a tiny map" recap, of course.

I was kinda wondering about that myself. Although, it might be interesting if the Narrator was Luonnotar. That's what was done in most the Religious pedia entries, to give the view of a more neutral observer.

Think I'd like to try the Luchuirp for this one.
