Its Dead on 10 now. Trust me thats coming from someone living in a GMT zone. However im prepared to wait for one more person to show up but only for 30 more mins.

Great. But I am just saying that if we begin later, the game doesn't become later for me - it becomes shorter. Most likely things will turn up later today and I have only dedicated the time that we agreed to.

I have no problem waiting a few minutes. Or 30.

Also, unless I am misstaken, if someone stumbles in later they can take over an AI civ during the game?

Ok dont trust me im exchanging GMT for BST on the assumtion britian always runs of GMT. Thats not the case!!

It is currently just gone 9am GMT but 10 am BST. I will start the game at 10am GMT as i said i would.

I'm not used to normal speed, but I figured why not give it a try.

I spawn on a mountain ridge in the water and look around a little - jungle is my option (and what might be mainland many moves away). A few forests (on hills) and the rest water. Ok, so I need to get fishing first or I will have 1 commerce for the rest of the game (or chop forests...) Fine. I spread out a few warriors, grab a couple huts and save one hut for later. My econ cannot handle the fog-busting, but I figure I will deal with that later. For now, I have 3 cities planned and fogbusted for (even if it doesn't hold long) and I will get fishing eventually. Turn 34 random event: -1 food in center-tile of capital (the only city I have, of course). I really wanted to try a 10+ hour game in normal speed but that start is just too much. I have a save of the game so anyone can look at the starts (some are wow) and a screenshot of my 3-wide forest and peak "land"; don't want to spoil anything for now though.

Good luck guys. Sorry I cannot do 20 hours (500+ turns?) of normal with that start. Since it was purely PvP, I cannot see how I could impact the game except as an extremely weak vassal. Maybe next time.

My mate took over ur civ and is now toping the game after backstabbing his next door neighbour. I think ur just not used to normal speed, things tend to work differnetly.

Ecofarm u had a good starting location there was nothing wrong with it. I took over your Civ when u had 2 cities and I am now at the top of the score chart.....


I think FfH2 deserves its own multiplayer forum ? anyone else agree ?

Reserved for screenie. And wait till you see some of the other land!! Wow. I'll post a save of turn 30 and you can look at everyone's start.

PvP with events, huts and totally unbalanced land is bogus. Equal TBG, equal islands and no random events, no huts is the way to go. Wait till you see how different the starts are, huts, etc.

Also, Tsunami is so broken. With any water-heavy landmass, it is... well.... broken. It seems like most maps have "Lanun" starts and if you are not Lanun, or worse - cannot go OO, then you are just screwed. Fishing first for 1 resource is terrible and so is bronze first to chop open land.

Don't you guys love it when a Svart (with a top 3% start) tells you that your (for example) 1 tile island is pretty good land
