I am having a problem loading your scenairo. At first it had a problem finding the file x_somethinginfintry file but this was fixed after i reinstalled both civIII, PTW, C3C, and the latest C3C patch. Now the load gets hung up on a FW190.INI file. I tried to find it in explorer in the units folder, only to find that there was no FW190 folder itself. It was not in the any of the CIV units folders or in your two zipfiles. Where am i expected to get the information for this unit and why is it not in your download. I think there are also other aircraft that will cause the same problem.

Lord Oden
If you look under the scenario in Art\Civilopedia\icons\units\ there should be 2 entries called FW190large & FW190small. I think its those that you need. Let me know if you cannot find them. If you have a look the .INI files don't exist for a lot of the units but they still work - I don't know whats preventing them from working on some machines as I've actualy downloaded this scenario on its own (imported no other units, etc) to my laptop and it works fine.

1)Hi, I want use unites hich you used in your great scenario. May you please told me all authors which you used for German Reich(no mines and naval units).

2)Vigo is Spanish, isnt? You may rename Vigo to Porto and Spanish city upper may you
rename to Vigo. But maybe you are right, because I dont know how it was in WW2...

Hi, I really want to play this scenario. I've downloaded it onto a removable storage thing and taken the winzip file and extracted it on my laptop. I've then tryed to play it. It gets to the map appearing on the creen before a box comes up telling me I don't have some british infantry file installed. I've got conquests and have tried to take the advice given earlier but didn't know what to do. I've looked in my play the world files under 'extra' but it only has medievil japan. I've also repaired civ conquests to make sure its all there but it still doesn't work.

I'd really appreciate any help. Will

you need the PTW extra units from:

i think its these:
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=69446

but im sure theres a patch with all the PTW units in somewhere......hmm

I've added them already and it didn't help. I'm actually going to reinstall civ 3 & conquests and the patch to see what happens

I have a problem. I have PTW & C3C, and when i tried to start the game, i recieved the following message: File not found: "art\unit\explorer\explorer.ini"
Can anybody help me with this?

Are you done with this scenario Phoenix? You haven't posted in this thread in a month, and there hasn't been an update in God knows how long. Just curious if this is dead...

hi i have downloadet the file and installed it but it seems to miss a lot of files french infanterie...britisth infanterie.....f4f wildcat and so on why? And how do i get them? I have conquest 1.22

cram, if yo u looked 5 posts up you can see me answering this question for the 100th time (it seems!)

you need the extra PTW units, that conquests missed out, I have no idea where to get these now.
and the scenario needs to be stored in the PTW scenario directory i think.

what about the location of the WWII map file? is it in the PTW directory or the Conquests one?

its been along while since i tried it...

It is in the conquest directory.

I can see that i miss some unit files but do not know how to get them?
Try putting it in the PTW directory; thats where it was meant to be placed. Unfortunatly even though all of the units are included on some machines the scenario doesn't seem to work correctly - rest assured that I am trying to find the exact casue of the problem but I am very busy since I have just started university (which is why I havn't made many posts recently).

Please forgive me if somebody has already mentioned this, as i'm not about to attempt to read this entire thread, but the German civ, the only one I've played so far, has a serious mistake in it.

The Maus is slated as the next-to-the-last in the German tank line, with the King Tiger following it. The KT was produced around 6/44, while the end of the war had not seen a single Maus completed (5/45).

The Maus would also likely have been both stronger in offense and defense (almost impenetrable) but also slower than the KT.

Apart from that the game seems pretty interesting. I am wondering one thing though, as the readme doesn't elaborate, just what is the function of the German oppression hexes (those with the grayed swastika)? They seem to do alright when they're irrigated but sometimes don't even recognize mining.

I knew that there were no manufactored models but thought that the prototypes got of the production line before the time of the king tiger (in the game I rarely construct more than a couple before beginning work on the king tiger). The swastikas are there to have a negative effect on the Reich and will not appear, or make any difference, to any other player (you may not know but the British have access to a British Empire resource which boosts their economy and production).

Thanks for the response.

If this were a normal attempt at a WWII game I would say get rid of the Maus entirely, but when you consider that it's 1000 turns that puts an entirely different light on it.

I think if nothing else the order of those two tanks should be switched. No matter when the Maus prototype came out, it still hadn't produced a single tank and the KT had been on the battlefield for almost a year. Also the Maus should have the stronger ratings, not the other way around (it had both a 128mm and 75mm guns for instance with especially much stronger armor on the sides and rear).

On a last small note, I think going by the philosophy of placing things by prototype creation date doesn't work too terribly well in most instances. I mean, where does the proto start for example, on paper? I ask that because the 'two' partially assembled Mauses that were discovered by the Allies couldn't have been anything but prototypes (discovered on or about 5/45 of course). I think going by availability dates (which a lot of us wargamers are familiar with) is a much more solid standard. Having protos when trying to have something for the 'future' WWII turns makes a lot of sense, such as the Maus, but it surely shouldn't be something that comes out as anything but the last step of any known German WWII tank progression.

You might find this interesting: http://www.achtungpanzer.com/pz7.htm#maus

Thanks.

Phoenix: Is this game meant to be played as Germany only? I can't believe this thread would be this large if that were the case. Playing as Germany works for me, but so far playing as France, Great Britain, and the USSR all end up with the map loading getting hung and it showing 100% CPU useage with a 'not responding' status. I know it takes quite a while to load them, but 10 minutes into those other nations on my 2.8G computer just get hung. I don't think Germany's load took over 7 minutes.

I appreciate it.

Phoenix: Nevermind. Praise be to God I figured it out. I did a little experimentation and found the Germans were actually taking 9 minutes. Decided I would try the USSR and just go off somewhere. It kept alternating between 'running' and 'not responding' as it turmed out, so there was some hope. I think the USSR one took about 30 minutes for me (not more than 40), while I know it was at least 21 minutes. So, I guess they all work and one just needs monumental patience for the 1st loads.
