Hands up who doesn't have a PC that will run Civ 4 (or the money to buy/upgrade one).

*raises hand* :(

Thank god Civ 3 is so great, or I'd go crazy! :mischief:

*wipes away a tear*

I’m not giving up on my computer yet it’s only a 866mghz, but I have decent video, I think if it still won’t run Civ4 I might try buying some newer DDR ram first before I buy a new computer. If I still can’t run it, I’ll have to talk the wife into it! ---->---->

My video card causes problems for Rome: Total War, so I'm going to be upgrading it just for that. After that, I think I'll be fine. At least, I hope I'll be fine, since I'm getting the game anyway ;)

Well, we have two PCs - and every couple of years I upgrade one to leap-frog the other. My 'good' one should run it OK, but I'm getting some more RAM anyway. My other one <might> be OK with a new video-card -> a 128 MB Rage Pro just won't do it, I'm afraid! :ack:

My computer has the bare minimum specs (32 MB video card, 256 GB of RAM, 1.5 GHz )
I'm just hoping that Civ 4 runs! :(

Mine barely runs Civ 3!

Video card? What's this? Do I need one?

By the way, I already sold both my kidneys to pay for my last holiday.

Then you won't have to wotrry about Civ 4. You'll be dead in a week or so.

Also I have an Intel video card it dos'nt work with RON Gold and I doubt it will work with Civ 4. Does anyone know a better video card?

www.newegg.com is good.

I use www.ebuyer.com for most of my parts - it's very good, but i don't know how good the shipping outside of the UK is. Peruse them and see which video cards are in your price range and appeal to you. Most have user reviews.

I can run Rise of Nations fine, but Halo is another story. Can anyone tell from that whether Civ IV will be fine?

Is there a demo of Pirates! I can try to see if it works? From what I've heard, if that works, Civ IV should work. I've never heard of a Pirates! demo, though.

My computer specs is P3 866, 394 RAM, and I doubt I can run Civ 4.

Going to buy a new pc soon, but only because Elders Scrolls 4: Oblivion is going to come out.

Civ 4? I'll buy it depends on the review;)

*points and laughs*

Okay that was mean. But my comp will run civIV, because it is better than my old comp, which ran Pirates and CivIII quite well.

I do hope you all are able to play it though. BTW, if anyone has a spare kidney or two they want to sell on the black market to pay for an upgrade, I know a couple of good chinese "businessmen" who might be able to take them off your hands... :mischief:

Sell a kidney.

It'll grow back, I promise. ;)

This was a good one  You almost got me!

My computer will run Civ4 just fine, but I'm going to upgrade my computer anyway, so I can run it at max settings and at 1280x1024. :D

Same here (except for 1.8 GHz). I desprately need a new computer, hopefully I will get some money soon to buy one.

I'm pretty sure my computer could run Civ4, except for the fact that my video card is a sucky ATI Rage 128. I don't think that's going to cut it.

Looks like I'll have to stick with Civ3, which is too bad. I was hoping I could get around to joining Realms Beyond when they start doing Civ4 epics.

My computer is Pentium 4 2.1 GHz, 512 DDR, 128 Reagon Pro graphics card, with 40 Gig hard drive.... is that enough to run civ 4?

I should be getting a brand new computer by the end of the year, so no problems here for me. :D
