The End

So this, 'co-op' mode will have many human teams vs. the AI? But when we conduct diplomacy, are we represented as individual teams or one 'human' nation? Are the teams working for a unilateral victory or their independent victory?

We'll just have to wait until the game arrives. :)

(even if I knew, I wouldn't be able to tell you. ;))

In the meantime we can arrange a team PBEM. During the transition to Civ4 it will let those who are lagging "behind" have an ongoing activity to participate in, much the same way that the Civ2 DG lived on well beyond the release of Civ3. :)

Yes, PBEM is somewhat cumbersome. One way to handle some of the cumber is to have a DP authorized to play all the teams, at least in the early going, by using the admin password and playing all the teams in "hotseat" instead of PBEM mode. (choosing play next instead of save and email) We could knock out ten turns at a time this way at least until the teams meet each other.

Hmm... I'm not a fan of having an admin play the first turns. I'm all for each team's president to do that. However, I do believe a four team PBEM is the way to go for DGVII.

Anyway, this thread's gotten off topic. We'll set up a thread on a "Game of Republic" (the origanal "team mode" idea) the day Civ4 comes out. Until then, let's wrap up this thread, demogame, and start planning for DG7. (hopefully we'll have participation this time. ;))

We'll be here, just in a new forum.

Well then, what is this site? Just a entrance and update board I guess?

That's the DG website. At some points in the past few games some people have tried to keep it up to date with current game information, for the benefit of players (citizens) who can't access the save either on a temporary or permanent basis.

Each demogame since the 2nd one, we have a pre-game period where the game parameters, rules, etc. are discussed. At some point we know when we'll be ready to start, and the moderators arrange to have a new set of forums created to hold the new game. After a suitable period (usually very brief to reduce confusion, lately immediately) the old forum is locked for new posts and ongoing discussions from the old forum are copied to the new one. Then the old forum gets archived and we play on in the current one until the next game.
