The culture ministry currently polling whether or not to build the Hanging Gardens and where to build it. Heres your choices:

Build HG in Fanatikku (31 turns)
Build HG in Immo (47 turns)
Build HG in Shorin-Ryu (47 turns)
Build HG in Zojoji (88 turns)
Don't build HG
Abstain

The discussions here

The poll will be open 24 hours so we have plenty of time before the next turn chat.

I beleve we should build the wonder in Shorin-Ryu.

I am not for building it at all. We didn't get a head start and the others will probably get it via the cascade. Japanatica can make better use of the shields it would take to build this mediocre wonder.

As I've said before a couple of times, we should build the HG in the Capital and once Zojoji is finished with its Library, It can do a Palace pre-build. We've got some great Wonders coming up in the Tech Tree, let's be prepared for them.

This poll should have a runner up option. If one city does not get the support, please transfer the wonder votes to the city with most wonder votes. Those that disagree on that may decline here in the thread, as it is a public poll.

Blackhole, we fought long and hard to get Monarchy first, and now you want to throw this national treasure out of the window simply due to stubborness! Your No no no no is such an emotional knee-jerk reaction that does not serve Japanatican interests at all. If we cannot put aside 1-3 cities at this stage to build a wonder or two, I cannot see any viable future for Japanatica. We are already militarily and culturally, as well as scientifically superior to our neighbors, and should use this lead to secure some wonders.
we secured iron, yet citizens wants to waste these iron tiles due to pride, we secured monarchy, and now some of the same will waste this wonder Hanging Gardens due to pride. If we let such shortsighted pride rule Japanatica, n concord with unforunate polls closing out good and fair solutions, we may have a harder future ahead.

Why play with a handicap when we can choose to follow our manifest destiny, and reign supreme with government lead, iron lead (no legion) and the opportunity to build a metropolitan city and future wonder city? I urge all citizens to back up building Hanging Gardens in Fanatikku, and mention that you will place it in other cities as a back up to this very limited poll structure. :) Please citizens, I call you to this chore.

I want HG :). It would be shame to be the civ without any ancient wonders. Fanatikku is the best wonder city we have. Send there few workers to mine hills and clear jungles to speed up production.

No wonders !!
I don't want to waste 100's of shields on something we don't need. We have silks, gems, wines; why build a Happyness giving wonder ?????

The gain is small, the risk of wasting 100's of shields too big. And we need that city to produce Samurai soon.

We need a wonder and it doesn't have to be Hanging Gardens. We could use Hanging Gardens as a prebuild for Sun Tzu or Sistine Chapel because Fanatikku can't complete it fast enough. Any onther city is even slower.

Do we want to wait industrial age and factories to start a wonder? NO!

The point is we need to start building a wonder now if we want to get any wonder at all.

There is only 1 other option and that is to spam Samurai's and capture wonders. But people will hardly want to engage in so many wars. We should at least plan these wars carefully.

I chose Fanatikku. Even if we don't get HG we can save up the shields for Sun Tzu or another wonder, maybe even the Great Wall. We aren't going to outproduce some of the civ's with massive population centers.

I agree with Rik here. We have the Luxes. We don't need the wonder, and for the 30-40 turns we spend building it, we can build 8-10 horsemen to upgrade to samuraii come Chivalry.
Which is better? A useless wonder or 8-10 Samuraii to go and carve up our neighbors for the glory of Japanantica?

SaaM

agree with rik, because actually i cant think of a time i needed hanging gardens in one of my games, its at the bottom of my important wonders list

i am not saying no no no no because of pride, but common sense

Makes 3 unhappy citizens content in its city and one unhappy citizen content in your other cities.

is it worth 300 shields to make a luxury that expires with steam power?
IMHO this is the worst wonder in the ancient age, excluding the great wall(in vanilla at least)

I'm sorry for the confusion, but I was intending for the yes votes to add up to the greater of the four. I'm sorry I didn't explain it. I put this poll together pretty quickly. I'll admit I should've done this better by having a preliminary vote on whether or not to build it and then a vote on where to build it. Well I guess I know better for next time.

As there are twelve "for votes" and ten "against votes", and Shorin-Ryu is the highest, we shall build it there. This is not yet set in stone though. The possibility of switching to another wonder later on still exists.

i object, sorry to be the devils advocate snipel ;)

i posted this in Governor Zarn's thread and i guess i must repost it here
note: i am not blaming this on you but the short time between tcs

what if the ppl that voted for fanatikku, only wanted it in fanatikku and they would object to it being elsewhere? that is not the wotp either
i agree it would have been better if u had a clause stating that, because some ppl might not have voted for what they did if that clause was there

thats just my 2 cents

I agree with Black_Hole. The way I interpret the poll, Shorin-Ryu only has six votes, with Fanatikku with five. I wouldn't add those together, as the people who voted for Shorin-Ryu might fiercely oppose a wonder build in Fanatikku. I think a repoll with the options "Yes," "No," and "Abstain" should be made.

You know what. You are right.

I have conducted this process completly in correctly and I apologize for this. I should have polled this "yes, No, and abstain" style first. Therefore I nullify the results of this poll. And I once again apologize. I tried to rush this whole process and I neglected to use the correct judgement on how it should be done.

Once again, I sincerely apologize for any inconveniences and confusion.

There's no need to apologize like you just gave away all of our gold to Rome, snipelfritz. It was your first poll, you put the options you thought would work in, and people found a flaw. Practice makes perfect! :)
