please be patient with me since im still a noob when it come to Civ4.
well my question is how does the internet wonder work in the game??
do i need to do something else inorder to get the Tech from other civs??
is there a special condition i need to fulfill??
because everytime i have built it i dont get any. maybe i just dont get it.
your help is much needed, thank you:)

Basicly its just like the Great Library of Civ3... if you haven't played Civ3 then you wouldn't know... so I will explain it. (I hope)

The Internet wonder/project basicly grants the one who builds it free technology as long as at least 2 other civilizations have researched it. So say 2 other civilizations discover Fusion and you don't have it The Internet will grant you this tech free of charge (assumming your the one who built it).

The problem with this is by the time you can build The Internet you can only get about half a dozen techs with this... thats assuming you stop researching altogether after building it.

I personally never bother with it lol

It was my understanding that the internet was a universal wonder... Once it was built, once any 2 civs had a technology everyone else got it for free.

I guess this isn't the case?

Yes, it only affects the CIV who builds it.

somewhat OT: I want the old great library back.
It would've been a great help for those who want to try a cultural victory on anything >= Noble.

No, I am glad the Civ3-Great Library is not in Civ4. It was way too powerful.
Everytime I started a game in Civ3 I would totally base my strategy on getting the Gr. Lib. Wasn't that hard, because the AI would almost never go for Literature.
If I didn't get it, sometimes I would stop that game and start a new one. This way Civ3 got repetitive very soon, as the first two era's were based around that wonder.
One of the things I like most about Civ4 is that the wonders aren't so powerful. They add a bit to your empire, but not shape it. If you go for a wonder (like early on Stonehenge, the Oracle or Pyramids) but lose the race to another Civ it isn't that bad that you will lose the race for colonizing, early research or wars. Not a reason to change your startegy completely.

Done cultural victory in noble with 6 cities. start with someone spiritual and try to get as many religions u can(oracle&prophets),open borders with everone and spread your main religion to convert other civs, build the piramids to get representation. Even if u loose the tech race, u really dont need many techs from the modern era, i for one, as soon as i researched assembly line and biology stopped researching and putted everything in cultural.
