Looking for the door...
I think Ive figured out what happened to the funds last night.
Instead of downloading Donsigs Post-Trade save, Chieftess loaded her own 1030AD.sav. That means she started out with 900 gold and because the Sci/Lux rate had been set to 70/30 there was no income. It had been set at 30/10/103 with Physics in 12 turns when originally saved, but Donsig must have changed it. At the start of the game (0-Turn), CT rushed a temple in New Cap for 224 gold. She then attempted to rush a temple in Tlaxcala, but her computer must have glitched, because there was a temple there (Tlaxcala was building walls and had 7 shields stored) but it wasnt complete. She claimed it was 52 turns out, which matches the figures on the walls. This means that the 212 gold for the temple was spent, but the temple was not produced. I believe CT is having memory problems with her computer. CT then spent 180 on upgrading 3 Pikemen. When Donsig came back and the discussion started about the Pre-Turn Trades, CT calmly made the deals that Donsig had done earlier on his save. They only difference with this is I think one of the deals cost 6 gold less than at Pre-Turn. Finally CT changed the Sci/Lux rate to 50/50/17 per Donsigs request. That means 17g income on turn 1. Ive shown the figures below.
Bank ..900
Temple ..-224
Temple ..-212
Pikes ..-180
Silks ...-100
Democ ..- 38
Income + 17
Balance .163
According to what I read, I believe the bank then stood at 169 gold. This means everything checks out. The only bad thing was we couldnt afford to rush the temple in Tlaxcala because of the trades. If CTs computer hadn't glitched, we would have had the temple, but then couldnt afford the trades. So I guess its personal preference whether anything bad happened.
Clearly there was poor communication among the Leaders as far as the Pre-Turn went. CT did not know of the Pre-Turn as Donsig had rushed this as urgent. I dont think Donsig should have done this, but thats just my personal opinion. About the computer glitch . stuff happens. But I would strongly recommend that the game not be played on that computer until its been taken to a competent tech. I do not believe we have to make any changes or replay. That should make some people happy.
