Hey all

I just thought of something today that many people would think stupid but it might be pretty cool.

In the honor of the Oscars I present to you
The MODDAWARDS!!!

Basically we give out awards to different mods with different categories like:

Best Modpack
Best Skin
Best Graphic Artist
etc..

Does anyone think this is a good idea or not?

i think if it is good or not depends on the voting and awarding system
because some kind of prizes mostly help to make ppl work harder.

The negative aspect i see is, that this modding community is so positively interacting and helping out each other, that this "oscars" could destroy the atmosphere by adding rivalismn

I TOTALLY agree with seZereth on this one, although this idea has some good or bad affects, you have to decide if the good out weighs the bad and make your decision from there

I like the idea, but it should only be a title, something you can put in your creation thread to show that the scenario or whatever is a good pick. Also, you should definately wait a little while. Very little is available at the moment.

how about just a general 'good job' award handed out to whomever has a good mod out. Everyone could send in thier choice for best mod/skin/artist and anyone who gets more than 3 gets a modding award....

That's true! While I like to award and recognize people for their great and hard work, I wouldn't like if this brought competition to modding. If I ask someone for python help or something I get some good, helpful replies. I'de hate for some users not to help others just because they don't want to aid a "rival!" We should really help each other.

im likin that idea che guava, that way you can be like i got 2 good mod awards or like i got 7 good mod awards

The Neverwinter Nights Vault has a Hall of Fame for mods and other files. Each one has to get so many votes and be downloaded a certain number of times. That might be a good way of doing things.
