The music in Civ 3 is just terrible. It gets so boring...I think firaxis should add just a couple of more songs...the more the better..

i just listen to mp3s/internet radio when i play... if you're playing a game as long as civ3, any music they choose for you is likely to irritate you sooner than later...

The good thing about ingame music is that it adds feel and flavour. I mean listening to Kraftwerk when you build your first musketman isn't really that mood setting... I'm all for more music in the game!

i am a composer , sound engeneer , and what ever else you want to call it so i can make new music and sounds for the game. the only problem is a still dont know how to add the new songs to the game. if some one had the skill they could make a musical installer for me that would add my new songs to the game music folder but also change the text so that the songs would actualy play. after we made this installer we could post a link and give people copys. we would get slightly famous maybe, but atleast make people happey because of an improvement to the civ game......
if anyone can help me make the installer then ill make the songs.
also if anyone needs custom made sounds for thei'r new units that they made just send me a PM and ill try to help if i can.

Winamp all the way!

I've not listened to the ingame music in a long time, and I don't miss it. As for fitting music, well, that's entirely up to you what you play on Winamp (or WMP, or your stereo).

The Weather Channel is nice background sound while gaming. It also gives you a really good idea of how much longer you can play before you need to save and shut down because storms are coming. I really hate it when the power goes out during my game!!!

The Modern Age music is alright. It's the industrial age that makes me want to bang my head against something. Though playing Techno songs over Winamp instead really ups the mood. Nothing like sending in troops to the sound of Sandstorm.

I have the Conquests music on a disc. I absolutely love the music.

I love the Ancient Age Music, the Middle Age music isn't quite as good but is still awesome, the Industrial Age music is tolerable but a bit boring I'll admit, and I like most of the Modern Age music. The music I really like though is the music on the Japanese Conquest, especially the first one that plays. I like the Mesoamerica Conquest music too, but it's not as good as a few of the others. Also, everyone I've ever talked to loves the music as well.
