The overabundance of spammy polls in OT

Lately, the problem has multiplied. The latest ones include the likes of:
Are you evil?
Toilet paper of bidet?
Favorite pointless poll?
Favorite methods of ant destruction.
Favorite color.
Favorite day of the week.

Ahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is there anything that can be done. I often search the forum for fruitful and heated debates, only to find a massive pile of spam, slowly rotting away. Its almost like there is a competition among the lesser spammers to see who is the uber-spammer.

The polls are spam I must agree but I've posted in most of them as I think they are quite funny. However the amount is getting out of hand and before you know it the OT consists of nothing else. So good job you closed some.

G.L.O.T.S is an acronym (full meaning classified for insiders only) at Poly for why marcos goes on binges of deleting lightweight threads in the OT there.

If I remember reading something right, aren't posts in OT at Poly not counted to the Postcount? Hmmm. Would that reduce waht some are talking about? I don't know, but maybe. I don't post or read the Poly OT, so I'm not sure how well it does or does not work.

Ah, come on they're only a bit of fun - loads of them on the board at any one time might be annoying, fair enough, but stupid polls per se are not that bad - once you start reading the responses there's often a few good jokes in there which is a good thing isn't it?

I think they are motivated by spam, and am happy to see them go.
