I've heard quite a bit about the power democracy, and would like to learn more about it, as I'm always open to strategy suggestions. How does it work? Being able to fight with demo would definitely be great!
Thanks for collecting those links in one post, Lucky! Makes it very easy to find those older threads...
For newer members, there are lots of good discussions that CFC-ers were having about a year ago on such topics as Democracy and Trade.... use the search function (Button at the top right part of the forum web pages), and try such things as "democracy" and "trade" and "power" and "starlifter". It'll find those old posts. you can use the word "AND" in the seach line, e.g., "power AND democracy AND starlifter", which will return posts with all 3 words. "power AND democracy" with the User Name "starlifter" will include posts with power and democracy, but only ones that I wrote. Be sure to read other person's views too, and combine your own playing style... while having fun! There is no single "cookbook" best way to play Civ, but despite smoke and debate, the basic mathematics of the game make the Mid and Late game Democracy the most powerful form of government in Civ 2... but it can be challenging to getting it up and running.
Be sure to visit the GOTM links and play the Civ 2 GOTM... thats a great way to improve one's game .
