I am having problems getting this to work with version 1.0.1.141 of Civ V? It worked fine before the (forced) update. I posted a detailed bug report about it in the bug section of the discussions forum at:

Thanks for a great Civ,
Mason

I haven't played in a while and been busy with work. I will try to take a look at it this weekend and see what I can find out. I will update this topic with my findings.

Thanks!!

A couple historical suggestions:
The capital of the Republic was Houston not Austin. Also, Austin was originally named Waterloo. I think (not sure) it wasn't till after the end of the Republic that it was renamed Austin. Historicly, there are actually many cities in Texas (like San Antonio) that are much older than even the state (or Republic) itself. Although I realize Houston would have to be first in the list to be the default capital. You might also consider adding the Alamo as a wonder if you're adding wonders at some point.

I found a still that I added as my Diplomacy Screen image that you are welcom to look at.

The capital of the Republic moved several times, and both Houston (1837-39) and Austin (1839-46) were the capital at one point, and Austin was renamed when it became the capital, in honor of Stephan F. Austin. Before Houston and Austin, there were 5 temporary capitals: Washington-on-the-Brazos (1936), Harrisburg (1936), Galveston (1936), Velasco (1936), and Columbia (1936-37).
