The so-called ''Friends''

In the CvDiplomacyAI.cpp, there seems to be a lot of ''is this guy a 'friend'?'' checks.

What exactly are ''friends''? Players you have a (current) DoF with? Or just if the AI's opinion weight is high enough?

It has mostly to do with the MajorCivOpinions enum. It doesn't necessarily have to do with a DoF.
