This is the next Civilization IV poll, polling 13 technology quotes. I'm not going to say 13 Renaissance Era tech quotes because of my mishandling of placing the techs in the right eras, so I won't be doing that. Anyway, once again the top two most favored wll enter the playlist;

Astronomy - 'Astronomy compels the soul to looks upwards and leads us from this world to another.' - Plato

Banking - 'Banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies.' - Thomas Jefferson

Chemistry - 'Chemistry mean the difference between poverty and starvation and the abundent life.' - Robert Brent

Constitution - 'No freeman shall be taken, imprisoned, or in any other way destroyed, except by the lawful judgement of his peers.' - the Magna Carter

Corperation - 'Corperation, n. An ingenious device for obtaining individual profit without individual responsibility.' - Ambrose Bierce

Democracy - 'It has been said that Democracy is the worst form of government except all the others that have been tried.' - Winston Churchill

Economics - 'Compound interest is the most powerful force in the universe.' - Albert Einstein

Gunpowder - 'You can get more of what you want with a kind word and a gun than you can with just a kind word.' - Al Capone

Liberalism - 'Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deservse nither and lose both.' - Benjamin Franklin

Military Tradition - 'Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win.' - Sun Tzu

Nationalism - 'A man doesn't have himself killed for a half-pence a day, or for a petty distinction. You must speak to the soul in order to electrify him.' - Napoleon Bonapart

Printing Press - 'What gunpowder did for war, the printing press has done for the mind.' - Wendell Phillips

Rifling - 'Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun.' - Mao Zedong

Tough choice, best quotes from the 2nd best era of the game IMO.

But I choose this, since this is the most important tech in the game. But in all seriousness, it's also the most meaningful for this day and age.

Liberalism - 'Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deservse nither and lose both.' - Benjamin Franklin

"A kind word and a gun." This quote describes how a lot of us play CivIV (including me). Actually, there are quite a few good quotes up there.

1st place -
Gunpowder - 'You can get more of what you want with a kind word and a gun than you can with just a kind word.' - Al Capone

2nd place
Economics - 'Compound interest is the most powerful force in the universe.' - Albert Einstein

3rd place
Nationalism - 'A man doesn't have himself killed for a half-pence a day, or for a petty distinction. You must speak to the soul in order to electrify him.' - Napoleon Bonaparte

Why do both OP and Tycho spell Corporation as Corperation?

Ambrose Bierce ftw.
