The Waiting Game

At the end of every turn it takes the AI approx. 15 sec to process the other civs, but then when the "waiting for other civilizations" message disappears and my turn starts again with e.g. the next build orders for a certain city or a pop-up with a leaderhead etc. the program freezes up for about 75 seconds! every turn again and again.
I've included a savegame to find out for yourself.

I have downgraded the all the grapics settings in the optionmenu to medium and now there's no lag anymore.
I have a pentium 4 3Mhz, 1 Gig Ram, ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128Mb and enough harddisk space.
 
Im glad to see that your problem was fixed, but I still have that exact problem. The game runs smooth and the turns are relatively fast, but as you say - the first buildorder or leader-popup lags for quite some time.

Its the same problem at High/Medium/Low settings, and my drivers are up-to-date. I cant attach a save because of the size :(
 
I had this problem around turn 1048 in my last game. My PC is no slouch.
core 2 duo 2.4 ghz
2 GB of RAM
Geforce 8800 GTX
more free hard drive space than you can shake a stick at.

I have a similar system; same cpu, more ram - although just a GF 7900 GS...
