Theocracy - my indie "homage to Civ2" is a classic Civ-like 4X turn based strategy game, with simplified mechanics and retro fee, similar to early Civs, but focused on usage of religious power and usage of miracles. Combat and cities/empire management is simplified to avoid micromanagement, so that a game can be played fast. My intention was to make a retro Civ for people who don't have time too much time to play.
It's one-man hobby project, so don't expect Civ8, but I think it's actually really nice and addictive game, you if enjoy old-school 4X.
You cannot settle new regions, only conquer and convert existing ones - at the beginning the world is controlled by pagans.
Later heretics, atheists and even aliens appear to threaten you. And of course your main enemies are other theocracies.
No farms and roads. Who wants to be farming when you can strike the enemy by a thunder or unleash a monster upon him?!
Oh, and Gandhi cannot nuke you (no Gandhi, no nukes), but Krishnadevaraya can erupt volcano on you, if that's what you are looking for in a game
