To make Civ the very best strategy ever bar none, I would like to see in future editions (or in modpacks all you techies!) the scope for natural disasters. It seems wholly unrealistic to go through 6000 years of history without a flood, earthquake, tidal wave, volcano, tornado, plague of frogs, smallpox, Black Death, AIDs, boils, locusts, hurricane or any other such random act of God and or mad mother nature. Sometimes it is natural disasters rather than outright war that makes or breaks a civ for all eternity. Does anyone agree or would you find the natural disaster too annoying at three am in the midst of a carefully engineered campaign? I'm not talking about entire countires ripped apart, just a few million people floundering around in wretched agony and distress for a few decades...
