I was playing the game, and at some point, a gray rectangle took over most of the screen. I couldn't click through it, and adjusting my settings to the minimum didn't get rid of it. Also, the screen didn't scroll when I took the mouse to the edge. Very frustrating, as I had to maneuver the screen around by clicking on the map around the edges of the gray rectangle--and try to position the rectangle so that whatever I wanted to click was in the clear area.
Saving the game and exiting got rid of the gray rectangle. It soon appeared, however. And I figured out what it was: it was the chat box, used mainly in multiplayer. It appears and disappears with the "`" button, right below the "Esc" key. I had hit it accidentally while trying to leave a screen. And it had disappeared when I hit it again, while trying to hit the "Esc" key.
So what stuff have you found that seemed like bugs, but actually weren't?
