This game should have been tested longer?

The number of graphic bugs people post here makes me think: Yes, they should have tested it longer.

There are only 2 relevant graphic chip companies around and whole series of both of them have bugs (white terrain/ black seas for Radeon and uncorrect resource displayment for GeForce owners in my neighbourhood).
My computer crashes when I want to go to my desktop and I had to uninstall my Python to get it to play correctly.

I own a lot of games and whereas gameplay bugs are often found in retail versions of the game and balancing always needs to be tweaked this number of technical problems is rather unusual. Reasons: As we know the release was pushed by TakeTwo into October, the technical team did not have the time to correct all technical bugs. We will see a patch rather quickly because there is no way these bugs were not noticed before release.

The "numerous system configurations" excuse is lame as 1) other companies release games than run on all systems meeting the requirements and 2) There are things like Direct X or Open GL that were invented for an easier hardware/ software compatibility

I guess you have never made a game. Direct X does not make for easier compatibility. It is still reliant of cards that have correct hardware support for hte functions and drivers that actually work. nVidia and Ati wouldn't be making new versions of the drivers every week or so if this were in fact stable.

What 3D game have you seen lately, BTW, that ran flawlessly on everyone's system? After you answer go to their support forum and check. You will see that they had serious issues also.
