This is so depressing

Yes well i thought on the Ram, however the fact that 256 is the min, would suggest that they have tested the game and not had the chopiness he is having. well i would like to hope they did, or why even post the min specs? while i agree more ram is always better, in his case i would one of my copies of SWG that it his indeed the vid card. if not than Friaxis needs to redo the min specs of the ram needed to run this game.

It's in Firaxis' and the publisher's interest to make the min spec the lowest that's possible to run the game, so more people buy it. Sounds like the game runs in this case, so technically the min spec is accurate. I always assume min spec is all but unplayable.

My advice? By at least 1Gb of System RAM first, try it and see, and then buy a new video card if you need to. You'll find that the whole system will run much better with the extra RAM anyway.

Hi... thanks for all your advice!

I found this on COMPUSA's website :

512MB PC3200 184pin DDR DIMM Memory Module

would this work on my computer? It's a Dell 8300. Thanks.

And I would like to get to 1 GB but it's too expensive after buying the game and the strategy guide(wish I hadn't, now)... I'm going to get 50 dollars after I do a job with my dad this weekend but that's about it...

Will civIV run on a NIVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 with AGP8X. I can run Rome Total War and Pirates on it fine but all the graphics card problems that are poping up have me worried.

If you bought your computer a year and a half ago and they only put 256mb of RAM in it you got ripped off. 512mb is the minimum you should have for gaming on XP.
