Throne Room

Okay, so gone with the throne room and now for something completely different

Why not have mister Potatoe-head feature in civ3, every time you will be able to give him new clothes / other atributes, that fit the appropriate time, so the fur of a brown bear in 4000BC, a roman helmet and toga in 100BC, a knight's armor in 1100AD, a space suit in 2000AD etc.

I've got an idea scrap the throne room. Then every so often when the people spontaneously pick up tools yadda yadda yadda you get to place a non-effects wonder in on of your cities. You get a whole list of wonders that don't actually do anything to pick from and make your cities look pretty...aah. You could even populate the list with some of the crazy suggestions from the wonders thread.

also, i was just playing an old game (it was 1880) and i have it done at that time! I didn't even remember ever finishing it! cool!

I actually kind of like the throne room... Of course, it's not as amusing the second, third, fourth, fiftyeleventh time as it is the first, but it gives me a minor ego boost. I am generally not *that* stuck into my own thoughts that I can't dedicate a second to improving my fine throne room a little, especially since I am not so comfortable with the idea that the leader of my almighty empire is sitting in a cave on a bunch of rocks freezinb his behind of.

Though frankly, I wouldn't care one way or the other if they kept it, removed it or improved it. Though the latter would be preferable, either improving it or making something new and fun...

How about a throne room/palace that actually give you a choice in what you want for decoration? Instead of the pre-standardized ones, you can download new arts, select your chair and stuffs? Or you can get a bunch of honor guards at the front door and a bunch of hot chicks (Download real looking ones)lying around your chair?

That would be nice.

O yea, and a zoom in and zoom out option. O yea, different rooms. Yea build extra parts in your city for extending your palace? Or multiple palaces? (Summer Palace, Southern Palace, Northern Palace, Central Palace) all over your empire?

DBSD13 I really like the idea of being able to have multiple palaces around your kingdom. Kinda like Saddan Hussein has them spead out all over Iraq. They could even incorporate this into gameplay to increase culture in the cities where they are built. And it could show in the city view with your custom designs.

I think that the Castle/Palace idea is a good one. This would give some distinction to your capital city as your capital city. I think that this is good troneroom bad.
