To delete or not to delete? That is the question...

Greetings,

I'm working on a mod that limits game play to the Industrial - Information Eras.

Questions:

* Is there any "real" benefit to deleting all the Renaissance and earlier Techs/Building/Units/Eras, etc?

* Will making these deletes really save any meaningful amount memory?

* Will making these deletes improve load times?

* Will making these deletes cut between turn waiting times?

Am curious if anyone has a suggestion on the best way to "structure" a mod that deletes Eras or if there is any "tangible" reason to delete Eras in the first place.
