To make Forts useful

In Civ2 there was the right of passage system where a unit, unless friendly, could not bypass another unit in the neighbouring squares.

If Forts could be made to have that system, there useful-ness would be much elevated in my view. They could actually block up points.

Any chance, what you guys think?
 
The zone of control has been talked about alot. But most say it wont be possible to add it until the SDK is released. Look at the fort mod for more info.
 
Looks like we are still stuck with Maginot Lines ...
 
Well that makes my post useless. Sorry for duplication anyone. I wish this was possible as pillaging is way too easy the way the game is structured right now.
 
I just posted this in another thread... but you can turn off the pillaging by editing the unitinfos xml. You can either turn it off for all units, or restrict it to certain types of units. I didn't try the latter yet, did the former and not too happy with pillaging being completely removed. Going to try restricting it to one or two units per era.
