please cancel my membership. i no longer want to remain here, and therefore i ask you to remove my membership and my records from the database.

I never get why people sometimes want their account deleted. If you don't ever want to come here again, then don't; your account doesn't have to be removed. Or am I missing something here?

"To moderators: remove member"

That is outside moderator power. We cannot edit those records. Only the Admin, Thunderfall, can.

Maybe something horribly evil happened to him, and he wants to erase all record of it...:mischief:

Reminds me of a one-post poster who made a thread, "Please delete my account and this thread too."

:crazyeye: Totally illogical.

he must be paranoid and thinks someone is out to get him so he wants to erase every trace of him so Bill Gates can't capture his brain.

Anyways, TF don't erase this account, its a waste of time ya know

Please, don't start with that **** again. I'm glad I finally got rid of that Gates guy, and now you're starting it all over again!

even worse!
in a thread I started a guy with 1 post replied
"I dont want to get involved in more threads"
and that was his first post!

:crazyeye:

I thinked he is cranked because he was not allowed to to use a thread in civ3 C & C to advertise/link to another thread where he had something going on.

Hissy fit Lefty?

Oh well, Mac, we hardly knew ya.

Obliterate member?

It will be like he NEVER even existed :D

:king:

Doesn't a account stop automatically when one doesn't post for a while?

Erm, no, Stapel. Otherwise we wouldn't have 'over 25,000 members.' ;)

Well, it's not a bad idea is it? When someone doesn't post for more than a year or so. Or can the 'over 25.000 members' be used for advertising income?

One problem, stapel, is that some members register just to get TF's periodic announcements, or to use the search function, or to ask one question, or .... They may visit regularly, but rarely, if ever, post. How can we tell these people from those that visit the site once, register, and then never return?

(BTW, it's "over 28,000 members" now. ;) )

What about chieftess? She can't exactly do that.

And I don't think the other mods would like to either, nor their wives.

Why don't forums and websites have account deletion option? I'm always creating accounts and filling in details, usually I want to delete them completely later that day. The Data Protection Act isn't enough, or it's equivaent in other countries, in my opinion.

Someday I'll stop playing civ, sad but true, and I'll try to delete all reference to my existance here too...
