Hi,
so I after a couple couple of games that went really well (like 15k with continents) I decided to go for a HOF-game (since before I always forgot to save the 1AD turn, stupid me
). Anyways, now that I'm at the point where I just have to finish milking, I have a few doubts if I should post at all...
First of all, from my previous games I always ended up winning by domination and I was getting annoyed since I couldn't imagine how a player (who like me doesn't have 100 hrs to play every week) could avoid that - well, looking here at Civfanatics and eventually learning about Mapstat solved that, thanks guys for the hint and to Chiefpaco for programming it! Anyways, that got me curious and I also read SirPlebs (extensive) insights into milking. Even though I already knew most of it, of course, I did learn one pretty important thing (constant maptrading as money source!). - So, do you think it would be fair to send in a game even though I used that particular info? That hint helped a lot, but I did use a totally different approach for the rest of the game (playing with Iroquois I took a more militaristic approach, even though I was attacked much earlier than I anticipated and thus had to jump right into the fighting that would last for many many turns. There were other things as well, like research, city placement, etc.)
Second, I won't have many more points that SirPleb. Maybe just a few hundred, if even that. I did have a 2500 lead, but my domination limit is 110 tiles lower, making it impossible to keep my advantage. So, do you think I should still send it in once I'm done?
Also, it took me a LOOONG time to play that game, especially since I'm not in high school anymore and don't have so much free time (and the fact that I'm living with my girlfriend doesn't help, either
). So playing only for 30min or sometimes even less I have quite a few reloads and I don't want anybody to call me cheater because of it. Better not send in the game at all than having all these hours called a cheap trick.
In addition to that I wonder if I should do it just because ppl might team up against me when I play mp. I just started a PBEM game and I only played with one friend before - meaning I think I suck in mp (I learned that with Civ2, that sp is nothing like mp)!
So, what should I do? Just send it in when I'm done (I hope I finish the last 210 turns relativly quickly)? Or just keep it to myself so nobody would judge me because of it (you see I'm a shy person)???
Anyways, thanks in advance for your insights!
