Today's Technologies: A look at the real Modern Era

So I found a youtube channel that's pretty sweet and their vids are pretty addicting. The channel is Vsauce and they cover everything that's new, known or just discovered. I was watching a couple of Vsauce 2 vids, the latest here, and I thought that some of these technologies could be used for a series of different things in which we never even thought of (For example, the Olfactometer, Stem Cell Printing, Molecular Gastronomy, etc).

It's really addicting

I make a start:
Intelligent Garbage Collection
Intelligent Streetlights

Rather than having them as seperate buildings, they should reduce maintenance costs of Streetlights and Garbage Collection Agency.

Something like a Dike maybe to stop Tsunamies. Would be best if we had a Tsunami Event that would be really devasating. And the building disables the event.
