Touchscreen kills edge scrolling- arghhh

I'm playing BE on my touchscreen laptop and the game defaults to touchscreen controls after the patch, which disable mouse edge scrolling. This requires me to hold down the left mouse button to scroll around the map, which is super annoying. I have not found any sort of options, either within or outside the game, that restore edge scrolling. Anyone know a solution to this problem?

Don't know of a solution but perhaps if you have arrow keys on your laptop keyboard you can use these to navigate around? Might be just as aggravating for you though as you may not be using the keyboard much at all.

I mean, I can do stuff like that, or click the left mouse button, it's not totally unusable, but it's super inconvenient and I would really really like to have edge scrolling since that's how I've been playing Civ games since about 1995.

Have you tried going into options and selecting "Bind Mouse" to always?

It's strange to hear as I do everything on my own touch screen in windowed mode and I sometimes get annoyed when the screen accidentally starts moving from moving my mouse past the edge of the window to do other work.

Yup, bind mouse doesn't do anything.

I'm running in fullscreen - do you have the option to edge scroll in fullscreen mode?

I just tried it in fullscreen and I still have the ability to edge-scroll and use the touch controls simultaneously. You could try clearing your game's user settings or validating your game's files.

Hmm... still not working unfortunately. Do you have any special settings set? I'm running Windows 8.1, regular AMD mode (not using mantle), have tried with each variety of mouse binding, no luck so far.

No, I don't believe I have any other special settings apart from windowed mode with everything on minimum. My OS is the same as yours. I do all my work on a Surface Pro 1 if you think that might help to know.

I tried everything but nothing seemed to turn the touchscreen off in game.
The touchscreen "addition" to the game killed the fun I had with it,.
Its compulsory, if you have a touchscreen and it's turned on in windows the game will start with the touchscreen addon and there is no way to turn it off anywhere.
Only thing that works is turning the touchscreen application of in windows before playing (basically turning your touchscreen in a normal screen) and if you want turning it back on after playing. For me it worked this way but I have a desktop. You'll see if it works if you don't have the touchscreen symbol on the main menu in game.

All in alll I think it is a really bad choice to not be able to turn it off in the settings of the game.
