Simply put, who are the hardest civs to beat in a game? My vote goes to Greece. If they border me, they try to kill me. If they are far away, they become super powerful because they've destroyed all of their neighbors. Plus, they seem to be allies with all the city states on the map.

Yes, Greece is tough, but I absolutely owned Alex last time. I saw he was my neighbor and shortly after I grabbed one of his workers. A couple turns later his other worker moves into the same tile, so I take that one too! He was toast after that.

Germany & Hiawatha can also be tough opponents.

Ramses usually wonder spams, runs away, and is on the other side of the world from me in pretty much every game I play with him in it. I'd hate him more if I didn't like playing Egypt.

Greece is toughest because it always ally with every possible city state and they also destroy their neighbours quick and if they don't full success first time they make some peace agreements and stuff and continue after their military is fully deployed again. On my current game they are my neighbours and they have already killed two major powers (USA and Japan) and are just beating Russia.

I voted for Wu, because if you don't meet her in time, her CKNs are a tough customer.

I voted for Hiawatha...I seem to have trouble with him....but Alexander and Bismarck are pretty close seconds. If Alexander is nearby I don't even bother trying to be on good terms with him....I'll start getting ready for battle right away and if it makes sense I'll strike first....maybe by stealing a worker.

Usually it seems to be a while before I have enough firepower to seriously attack a city, so I'll do what I can to prevent him spreading out with other cities....killing off warriors ...grabbing settlers....

BABYLON.

They are aggressive and very good scientifically; a horrible combination.
Warmongering while having a ton of advanced units is very scary, and I try to get them into wars to keep them busy.

I find that if you leave them alone, they will have the highest amount of points.

Attila, no doubt. if you are neighbor of him, you simply have little chance to survive. alex is warmonger but if you kill his units and close one of his cities he offer something and wants peace.

Its always suleiman for me. If he neighbors me he always becomes hostile towards me. India too.

Today, Ottomans invaded my lands -I was England- and their soldiers were numerous I had 3 Longbows, still could not push them away. then, I did one thing; rage quit :(:D

depends .. early game Alex is a pain .. mid game suleiman always backstabs me .. and in the endgame Catherine took half the globe in my last 2 games ..

Alex first and foremost.

I would say the Iroquois too, but everytime they become serious competitors for victory we end up been best buds.

Suleiman is a threat up to the industrial but everytime he doesnt seem to get a good grasp of science for some reason.

Catherine also is a very serious threat and one that must be removed ASAP or it will turn the planet into the new fallout sequel.

I voted Hiawatha. He enjoys expanding, is not shy about war, and prioritizes tech. A potent combo with ludicrous production from his UB and start bias.

Wu Zetian for me.

Catherine, for the most part- tends to be very friendly with me, if not a solid ally.

Korea; which doesn't appear to be on the list.
They appear to be the only civ whose science flavor setting is correctly set and in addition get science bonuses from the UA.

Second best is Persia; but they have to conquer several of another AIs cities. They also have a decent science flavor.
