Listen, I got an idea...

I'm new, so treat me nicely, I'm Young And I'm Hopeless. JK, I'm not that much of a crailboy.

Anyway, I think that when you collect recources, that, at that point, they're just raw materials. You can trade these, but they will not be as valuble as what I'm going to say.

Here's the SMACK in my idea, when you collect recources, they allow an output of say ... 50 per turn, uuuh ... Iron. With that, you can build manufacturing plants in your cities. This will be a side thing, different from the main production, like Great People. Now, with this, you can manufacture ... spears, like 200,000 of them or something, and It'll cost like 200 Iron, and will take four turns to complete.

With that, you can export these goods for some stuff ... maybe golden circle-shaped stuff.

To go with this, a spearman with require like, 100 spears (because you know the real people aren't that big, those are just symbols for smaller battalions).

Then the real production is just training.

Anybody support me? C'mon.

Firstly, welcome to the forums.

It is possible now to convert 'raw materials' into 'finished goods' etc using buildings that require certain resources and produce others.

The key missing part is that use of a resource is unlimited within your civ.

Apparently the Beyond the Sword expansion will allow corporations to absorb excess resources, when there are multiple sites supplying corn for example. Maybe this will somehow allow modders to translate this effect into something like what you (and a number of others) want. But probably not...
